    Group Human Resources Manager

    GROUP HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER

    Our Client, operating a portfolio of various businesses in hospitality, manufacturing, real estate, farming and retail sectors, seeks to recruit a Group Human Resource Manager. He/she will be responsible for planning and directing all human resource programs, policies and activities, including: talent acquisition and retention; compensation; benefits; employee relations; training and development; payroll; and human resources information systems.

    Directly Reports to: General Manager

    Indirectly Reports to: Directors

    Direct Supervision:  Human resource department staff

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Design, develop and deliver strategic and operational services to the business;
    2. Lead and manage the following HR processes:
    3. Talent Management including developing a mechanism for identifying , reviewing and managing talent as well as aggressive management of consistent bad performers;
    4. Organizational Development including designing and implementing employee job grades and pay scale structures;
    5. Human Resource Planning including developing a succession planning system, training employees for upward mobility, resourcing new staff and scheduling shifts.
    6. Performance Management & Development Planning including establishing a half yearly appraisal process for the entire staff performance taking into account delivery of financial, operational and quality Control targets;
    7. HR Strategies and Policies Development and Communication including developing and maintaining an employee manual with regular updates on company policy.
    8. Business Partner to line management in the creation of business process strategy;
    9. Understanding and aligning the organizations business strategy with human capital requirements required to deliver the same;
    10. Assist in building an organization culture where people are externally focused, responsive, innovative and collaborative to quickly and proactively respond to changing business needs as well as delivering the organizations brand promise;
    11. Ensure compliance to statutory labor obligations
    12. Implement wage and benefits administration.
    13. Any other duty as assigned from time to time to comply with the activities of the business.

    • Exceptionally well-skilled in the development and management of the human resource function in a fast paced , results-oriented, growth company;
    • Excellent sense of operations and an appreciation for the interplay between human resource strategy and the needs of a growing business;
    • Skilled in organizational development and design, particularly as those areas that relate to the needs of a growing business in a competitive industry;
    • Demonstrated ability to build cohesive teams and achieve goals through teamwork;
    • Business acumen at operational and strategic level;
    • Hands-on experience with local HR issues in the service industry;
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
    • Able to work in collaboration with people at various levels and from different backgrounds;
    • Assertive, results oriented and able to work under pressure.

    Academic Qualifications

    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
    • MBA is preferred but is not essential
    • Qualification in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology and other related fields is a plus
    • IHRM membership

    Experience

    • At least 8 years’ work experience in human resource management with at least 3 years’ experience in management/supervisory level.
    • Candidates with hospitality experience will have an added advantage.
