    Economist/M & E Specialist, Energy for Development

    Job Summary

    In this role, you will work closely with a global team, including WRI teams in India, East Africa, and Washington, DC, as well as external partners around the world, to contribute to the acceleration of energy access in the health and livelihood sectors. You will have special responsibility for supporting the project team to refine cost-benefit analysis methodologies and impact indicators and will  contribute substantively to impact analysis and knowledge products.

    Job Responsibilities

    You will support the team to develop and apply robust M&E methods, and you will substantively contribute to conceptualizing and authoring knowledge products. You will help develop impact tracking frameworks for energy access interventions in health and livelihoods

    • Support partners to conduct cost-benefit analysis and value proposition of renewable energy
    • Help develop impact tracking frameworks for energy access interventions in health and livelihoods
    • Help set up routine monitoring systems for project monitoring with partner organizations, including baseline and end-line data collection and analysis
    • Support leads in India and Africa to analyze project-specific outcomes and impacts
    • Aggregate learnings to report portfolio-level outcomes and impacts 
    • Assist policy outreach and engagement efforts with impact monitoring and evaluation results, at various stages of the project 
    • Contribute to development of knowledge products including working papers and reports
    • Work with the communications team to create materials for outreach and communications

     

    Job Qualifications

    • Masters’ degree in empirical economics, a data science field, and/or demonstrated experience in M&E analytics (or Bachelor's degree with 2 additional years of experience)
    • M&E Certification preferred.
    • Minimum of 4-5 years of direct experience in Monitoring and Evaluation management on productive uses of energy preferably in India and/or East Africa
    • Demonstrated strong analytic, writing and communication skills.
    • Demonstrated experience with socioeconomic impact metrics and evaluation is advantageous.
    • Appetite for innovative ideas that push the boundaries of change
    • Team builder who thrives in communicating cross-culturally
    • Valid work authorization in the country office of which you are applying. Visa sponsorship is unavailable for this opportunity.
