    Accountant

    Our client in the manufacturing industry is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and confident individual with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and MUST be based in Mombasa to fill in the following position:

    Job Summary

    Reporting to the General Manager, the overall purpose of this role is to handle all aspects of Finance and Accounting by providing appropriate financial advice. The role will be in charge of budgeting, financial analysis, and capital asset as well as implementing financial and accounting policies and procedures

    Main Responsibilities of Job

    • Ensures all the finance-related functions of the company are flowing smoothly;
    • Lead in identifying, developing, and implementing effective internal control mechanisms and drive consistent improvements in financial processes and routines;
    • Review all information collected for the preparation of the general ledger regularly to ensure its accuracy and completeness;
    • Oversee the preparation of financial reports and ensure adherence to accounting standards;
    • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial progress reports for the department and forward for approval, to ensure informed decisions are made within the Company promptly;
    • Supervise the account payables and receivable activities to ensure timely service delivery to the company;
    • Ensure that all transactions are as per accounting standards and systems for compliance;
    • Ensure financial issues and inquiries are addressed from internal and external customers to ensure satisfactory services;
    • Ensure internal checks are carried out to ensure effective and efficient accounting practices;
    • Coordinate revenue collection and expenditures of approved budgets to ensure the prudent use of available funds of the company
    • Ensure application of sound principles, systems, and techniques in accounting for effective and efficient use of finances and assets;
    • Participate in the preparation of reports regarding internal and external audits to ensure accurate information on annual statements is correctly projected;
    • Validation and verification of payments for accuracy and accountability; and
    • Ensure prudent revenue collection and expenditures based on approved budgets

    Key Skills and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance Option), Economics, Administration and Business Management from a recognized university
    • Must have at least six (6) cumulative years’ experience in a comparable position from a reputable organization
    • Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPAK) and Registered with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
    • Must have vast SAP exposure
    • Must have advanced IT skills
    • Must demonstrate the ability to handle multiple and conflicting priorities, and work under strict deadlines;

    Senior Legal Officer

    Reporting to the General Manager, the overall purpose of this role is to manage contract preparation & review, board meetings & related documentation, litigation, and providing legal advice to management and the Board and the appropriate course of action

    Main Responsibilities of Job

    • Coordinate the department’s technical assistance and training to field offices in the aforementioned subject matter areas;
    • Oversee the delivery of Industries secretarial services to Company’s Board of Directors and coordinate the business of the Board;
    • Negotiate and manage the drafting of Contracts / Agreements/MoUs and other legal documents between The Company and other parties to ensure that the interests of the Company are protected;

    • Represent the Company in legal proceedings, including preparation of amicus briefs;
    • Represent the Company in the resolution of complaints through mediation, negotiation, and reconciliation;
    • Prepare periodic reports on legal disputes and remedial action taken by the the Company;
    • Participate in the preparation of work plans, procurement plans, progress reports, and other statutory reports of the Company;

    Key Skills and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized institution
    • A Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Studies from the Kenya School of Law
    • Must be a member of the Law Society of Kenya with a current practicing certificate
    •  An advocate of the High Court of Kenya
    • A minimum of six (6) years relevant experience
    • Should have a thorough knowledge of the industrial sector as well as knowledge of regulatory requirements;

    ICT Manager

    Job Summary

    Reporting to the General Manager, the overall purpose of this role is to install and maintain computer hardware, software, and networks; to facilitate and effectively ensure that the information flow that ensures that the ICT needs of the company are met

    Main Responsibilities of Job

    • Demonstrate ownership of and communicate the ICT strategic direction and objectives to all staff to promote employee engagement and productivity;
    • Manage and provide oversight for the implementation of an ICT security strategy and disaster recovery plan to minimize the risk of data loss and breach of privacy of the Company’s information;
    • Ensure the development, implementation and maintenance of all policies related to ICT services, including procurement, distribution and asset management;

    • Provide technical guidance and support to regional offices on IT policies, maintenance of network and systems, and coordinate implementation of the new system in zonal offices;
    • Scout for new technological innovations within the company’s core business areas; and
    • Support the design and implementation of IT policies and procedures

    Key Skills and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in IT/ Computer Science, Software Engineering from a recognized institution
    • Certification in IT – CISA/CISM, or any other ICT certifications
    • Minimum eight (8) years of experience in the IT Profession
    • Should have adequate knowledge of the relevant industry/sector as well as knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting the relevant sector
    • Should be well knowledgeable of the ICT trends in the market

    Administration Assistant

    Our client in the manufacturing industry is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and confident  individual with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and MUST be based in Mombasa to fill in the following position:

    Job Summary

    Reporting to the Administration Officer, the overall purpose of this role is to liaise with Insurance agents, clearing agents at the ports, collecting documents from departments, developing effective document storage, filing system, and digitizing hard copies of documents

    Main Responsibilities of Job

    1. Set up and maintain the office filing system following the company’s filing system;
    2. Open new files as required and recommend disposal of old files following the established file retention policy;
    3. Maintain the files and ensure proper storage and retrieval of files to ensure the safe keeping of company documents;
    4. Liaise with the clearing agents at the ports to ensure that all the customs clearance aspect of the company is compliant to the regulations and timely;
    5. Liaise with Insurance agencies to ensure the records are up to date and renewals are timely;
    6. Check incoming paperwork (correspondence, invoices, etc.) and make copies before distributing;
    7. Sort all papers alphabetically and according to content, dates, significance, etc.
    8. Create or update records with new files and information promptly;
    9. Store all paperwork in designated places securing the important documents;
    10. Deal with all requests to access files and keep logs of borrowed papers;
    11. Develop an efficient filing system to make updating and retrieving files easier;
    12. Follow policies and confidentiality dictations to safeguard data and information;
    13. Monitor inventory of files, paper clips, etc. and report shortages; and
    14. Maintain an up-to-date record of file movements

    Key Skills and Qualifications:

    1. Diploma in records management or a similar field from a recognized institution;
    2. A minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience;
    3. Proven experience as file clerk; and
    4. Knowledge of filing systems
    5. Must demonstrate the ability to multitask;
    6. Must demonstrate commitment to operational effectiveness;
    7. Should have the ability to solve problems by applying relevant business knowledge;
