    Business Development Officer

    Job Summary

    To work closely with APF employees and ensure prospective customers are served in the most convenient and professional way, building and managing relationship with current and prospective partners.

    Job description

    1. Implementing the business development strategy & plans for the assigned portfolio and targets while ensuring adherence to policies and processes for delivery of targets
    2. Managing risks to achieve quality portfolio in line with set targets through client training, loan appraisal, portfolio management loan repayment and follow up
    3. Ensuring that all deposits have been apportioned as per customers’ payment within the stipulated time
    4. Carrying out market analysis for the assigned area to identify potential customers
    5. Creating awareness through marketing activities including promotion & outreach programs to generate leads and conversions.
    6. Carrying out customer screening, recruitment, training and evaluation in the targeted markets
    7. Carrying out loan appraisal assessment and loan processing in line with the credit policy
    8. Ensuring service delivery through regular group/ individual customer visits, turn around, customer feedback loan progress and repayments plans for sustained relationship and customer satisfaction.
    9. Preparing daily group status reports and sharing with the branch team for branch health and sustainability
    10. Identifying & recommending best practices for innovation to ensure new & improved processes, products and services
    11. Implementing service quality, customer excellence and change initiatives to achieve required business performance and culture  

    Qualification and skills

    1. A Diploma / Bachelor’s degree holder in Business related discipline or equivalent from a recognized college.
    2. At least 2 years’ experience in Credit, Banking and / or relationship management.
    3. A good understanding and knowledge of the Kenyan Microfinance Industry is an added advantage.
    4. Have excellent interpersonal and communications skills

    Credit Analyst/Monitoring officer

    Job Description 

    1. Implementing credit administration policy, processes and procedures across the organization to ensure compliance
    2. Carrying out assessment of borrower to recommend suitable loan amounts and terms based on the client capacity and security provided for the loan facility
    3. Controlling and mitigating risks by ensuring that operational policies and controls are adhered to in line with the credit policy
    4. Identifying current trends, insights, policy gaps and making recommendations for review
    5. Ensuring loan process adheres to the stipulated timelines for service delivery and customer satisfaction
    6. Responsible for talent management in the section including coaching, mentoring, developing, motivating, training, and evaluating staff to achieve highest levels of performance
    7. Identifying & recommending best practices for innovation to ensure new & improved processes, products and services
    8. Managing and Implementing service quality. Customer excellence and change initiatives to achieve required business performance culture  
    9. Analyze and Monitor all accounts and arrears based on aging and prescribe appropriate actions to retrieve all arrears from accounts that are due for payment
    10. Maintenance of an excellent filling system and database
    11. Daily, weekly and monthly reporting on actual collections performance and strategies
    12. Listing clients on CRB or legal demand procedures in the case of default

    Requirements and Keys Skills

    1. Degree/diploma in Accounts, Business studies from a recognized institution
    2. Professional accounting/banking accreditation e. CCP, CFA, ACCA or CPA will be an added advantage
    3. 4 years’ experience in the Credit analysis sector Competencies & Skills
    4. Ability to critically analyze financial data
    5. Knowledge of micro-credit operations, products, processes, and regulations
    6. Excellent judgment and fact-based decision-making abilities
    7. Ability to maintain composure under high-pressure situations and deliver results in a timely manner
    8. Excellent written and verbal communication
    9. Strong interpersonal skills
