    Health & Safety Officer

    Meridian Health Group seeks to recruit competent and qualified individuals in the following capacities:

    The Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for the main health and safety duties in the workplace. He or she is responsible for ensuring that there is a safe working environment for all employees and other relevant parties.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, safety inspections, risk assessments and working procedures are managed.
    • Coordinate the development of health & safety policies, systems of work and procedures.
    • Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health.
    • Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
    • Ensure the company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
    • Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations.
    • Coordinate Health & Safety audits.
    • Develop and implement health and safety policies.
    • Conduct risk assessment for all the facilities in the group.
    • Organize trainings for all staff in the group.
    • Coordinate environmental audits.
    • Ensure that all the facilities are licensed with the necessary regulatory bodies relating to health and safety.
    • Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated and recommended improvements implemented.
    • Conduct safety inspections for all the facilities in the group.
    • Run health and safety meetings and training courses for employees

     Qualifications

    • Academic: O-levels/A-Levels
    •  Professional: Diploma in a relevant field.
    •   Training in Occupational Health & Safety.
    •    Training in Environmental Management
    •    Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience Health & Safety preferably in health care environment.
    •    Experience in OSH training

    Human Resource Officer

    Meridian Health Group seeks to recruit competent and qualified individuals in the following capacities:

    Human Resource Officer

    The role of the HRO will be to maintain effective working relationships with the administration, employees, job applicants and the general public. The officer will be expected to provide effective, timely and reliable HR administration services to other departments and individual employees.

     Duties & Responsibilities

    • Ensure effective implementation of HR policies and procedures including advising section and unit heads of the right interpretation of the policies.
    • Assist in preparation reparation and monthly variance analysis
    • Liaison officer with government agencies on matters related to Employment
    • Administer the payroll for both permanent & locum employees every month and present them to Finance for salary remittance.
    • Work with section heads to manage departmental establishment for permanent, contract and casual staff.
    • Work with heads of departments to development of job descriptions for new positions and update JDs for existing positions when need arises.
    • Conduct regular surveys to determine employee satisfaction with their employment and work climate.
    • Administer the grievance procedure ensuring disputes at section and departmental levels are resolved in good time.
    • Benchmarking within the industry to allow planning and implement of employee retention schemes and reward recognition programmes.

     Qualifications

    • Academic: O-levels/A-Levels
    • Professional: Diploma in human Resource Management from a reputable institution.
    •   Be a registered member of IHRM
    • Experience: At least 3yrs experience preferably in health care environment.
    • Specialization in a HR function will be an added advantage.
