NYEWASCO was established as a limited liability company under the water sector reforms enshrined in the Water Act of 2002. Job Purpose
Undertake business development activities to market new products and enhance market growth for the Company’s products and services
Key Responsibilities/ Duties / Tasks
I. Supervisory Responsibilities
1) To promote and enhance mentorship and coaching strategies with a view to be consistent with the commercial principles and practices of operating a business to the staff in the Section.
2) Develops, monitors, implements and reviews the Performance Management Systems for the Section
3) Develops marketing plans for the bu s i ne s s of water and sanitation within the area of service provision.
4) Ensure that the Section has adequate, competent motivated and highly performing staff.
5) Appraise, supervise, mentor and coach all staff within the Section
6) Participate in the administration of and taking action on results of Customer Satisfaction survey to ensure full implementation of the Customer Service Charter and gather feedback for improvement of the charter and the Company’s products and services
7) Develop work plans for the Section, supervise implementation and evaluate performance to achieve the Company’s strategic plan, and ensure adherence to the performance contracting requirements;
8) Prepare strategic business models, annual budgets, business plans and performance work plans for the Section
9) Identifies and recommends simplification measures and automation during Business Process re-engineering and process improvement
II. Operational Responsibilities / Tasks
1) Develop a Research strategy focused both on revenue generation, brand awareness and customer satisfaction.
2) Carry out research to identify new markets and customer needs
3) Monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer needs and develop and implement marketing strategies to address them.
4) Develop and implement a marketing strategy based on best practices.
5) Identify and recommend alternative revenue generations leads through market research
6) Organize and undertake client satisfaction/feedback surveys.
7) Generate quotations and timelines for clients as requested.
8) Advise the management on additional products and services of use to clients
9) Investigate and pursue client leads, expanding client base
10) Proactively seek solutions to problems, notifying Management when concerns arise
11) Meeting with potential customers to present company’s products/ Services and negotiate business deals for new business.
12) Liaise with the Technical Division on viable areas for service expansion.
13) Analyzing market trends to identify unexploited or new markets for the organization's products and services including new water and sewer connections.
14) Develop project proposals on line expansion for infrastructure improvement/upgrades based on market intelligence.
15) Contributes to development of the company policies and plans
16) Provides data for development of resource mobilization proposals
17) Formulates and implements the department budget in line with the corporate strategy
18) Develop and implement the Performance Management System for the Section
19) Prepare and present reports for the Section
III. Financial Responsibility
Compile budgetary requirement for Marketing and Business development activities.

VII. Academic qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Economics, Social Sciences or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
VIII. Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies
Registrable with a professional body (CIM)
IX. Previous relevant work experience required.
At least Three (3) years relevant experience in a reputable organization, one (1) of which should be in a supervisory position;
