    Senior Safety Engineer

    Ref: HR/R & CA/01/01/2017

    Reporting to Chief Engineer/Officer – Safety, the job holder will be responsible for promoting a positive safety culture and safe work practices in KenGen, maintaining & coordinating safety and health management system in the company and participate in identifying hazards including assessing risk to health and safety of employees.

    Qualifications for the Senior Safety Engineer Job

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Production Engineering, or
    • Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or related field from a recognized institution.
    • Postgraduate training in occupational safety, industrial safety or process safety will be an added advantage.
    • Training and certification in OHSAS 18001 will also be an added advantage
    • Membership to a relevant professional body will also be an added advantage
    • At least five (5) years’ experience in a safety role and demonstrate active participation in health and safety activities, disaster risk and response management.
    • Experience in managing safety and risk in an energy generating environment is an added advantage
    • MS Office proficiency is essential
