    Carpentry Instructor

    Job Description

    The Lamu County Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions as per Sections 59 of the County Governments Act.

    EDUCATION DEPARTMENT: CARPENTRY INSTRUCTOR

    Job Group "G" or "H"

    REF: LCPSB/ADV/2017/31

    Terms of Service: Permanent & Pensionable

    REQUIREMENT 

    • Be a Kenyan citizen;
    • Diploma in Carpentry Engineering;
    • Certificate in computer application from recognized institution;
    • Instructor training certificate from KTTC will be added advantage

    OR

    • Grade Test II in Carpentry from a recognized institution; 
    • K.C.S.E Mean grade D (plain)
    • 3 years' experience in Youth Polytechnic institutions.

    NB: Those without Diploma will be placed at J/G “G” (Artisan I)

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Theoretical and practical Instructions in area of specialization;
    • Preparing and maintaining schemes of work, lesson plans, trainees’ records, teaching and learning material;
    • Trainees assessments;
    • Proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment;
    • Conducts co- curriculum activities; and 6. Managing discipline and provide guidance and counseling.

    • Academic and Professional Certificates.
    • Foreign degrees must be accredited by Commission of Higher Education (CHE).
    • Valid Clearance Certificate of Good Conduct, Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Credit Reference Bureau (CRB), Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Tax Compliance.
    • Any other relevant supporting documents.
