    Brand Ambassador, Glenfiddich - Kenya

    Job description

    As Brand Ambassador, Glenfiddich you will generate sustained knowledge, passion and commitment for the Glenfiddich brand amongst consumers, customers and the media in order to maximise visibility and build a strong brand presence in the marketplace in line with WGS targets.

    From day one you will be responsible for:

    • Be the face of the Glenfiddich brand and a source of brand knowledge to our own employees and extended community, to help with internal brand building.
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with agencies, customers and internal stakeholders in order to optimise opportunities to deliver value adding activities and increase product visibility.
    • Plan, deliver, review and evaluate an agreed range of activities to increase awareness and knowledge amongst customers and consumers of the Glenfiddich brand in line with the brand profile, current brand plan and budget.
    • Align with the Global teams on relevant assets and communication tools that can be introduced into the regional market.
    • Ensure, through a range of activities, that customers are equipped to serve and promote the brand to consumers, enabling them to become champions/ambassadors for the brand.
    • Proactively identify opportunities for improving brand presence and driving distribution.
    • Be at the heart of brand plans in prioritising investments and evaluating brand initiatives.
    • Develop a successful brand strategy for the region based on comprehensive analysis of consumer understanding, market insights, and ongoing trends. Keep the strategy and implementation on track by identifying emerging trends, consumer behaviours, and channel dynamics.
    • Closely partner with the commercial team to nurture associations with key and target customers.
    • Build and develop a community of brand followers and media relationships using digital channels, relevant social media and PR.
    • Proactively network with the EMEA and global Brand Ambassadors to build relationships across the business and share best practice ideas and initiative.

    The Role will cover Kenya 90% of the time with 10% of the time dedicated to driving influence, education and brand advocacy within key East African markets [Tanzania; Ethiopia; Seychelles; La Reunion; Mauritius]


    You'll bring:

    • In-depth knowledge of and passion for the Glenfiddich brand and a curiosity about the wider category and industry.
    • Significant experience of working with digital and social networks to drive engagement with influencers and the end consumer.
    • Exceptional influencing skills and the ability to build sustainable rapport with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
    • High personal impact and integrity.
    • A self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit.
    • A champion of new ideas and initiatives with the ability to identify new commercial opportunities and make them a reality.
    • High cultural awareness with the ability to adapt communication style as required.
    • A passionate and engaging presenter who demonstrates credibility and is able to inspire the market whisky consumers/enthusiasts.
    • Fluent in both English and Swahili.

    Desirable:

    • Wine and Spirits industry knowledge and experience.
    • Bar tender experience.
    • Demonstrable understanding of budget management and forecasting.
    • Digital and social networks knowledge and experience.
    • Experience in leading and motivating people to achieve individual, team and project results.
