    Chief Superintendent Mechanical Engineer

    JOB GROUP CPSB 07

    Reports to Director Transport.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical from an Institution recognized in Kenya;
    • Must be a registered Graduate Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya;
    • Knowledge of road vehicle standards;
    • Advanced computer skills (MS project, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Access and Engineering design software);
    • At least three (3) years relevant experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering from a reputable organization;
    • Demonstrate a high degree of professional and technical competence in work performance and results;
    • Be a strategic thinker and results oriented;
    • Satisfied the requirements of Chapter six on leadership and integrity;
    • Have excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain a comprehensive preventive maintenance schedule for plant(s);
    • Diagnose faults and ensure timely repairs of the county machinery, equipment and its fleet of vehicles;
    • Requisition and verification of quality spares ordered both for machinery and fleet maintenance;
    • Responsible for writing technical reports on plant and fleet maintenance;
    • Schedule timely statutory maintenance and repairs of county plant (s);
    • Installation and commissioning of new machinery.
