    Program Manager

    The program manager must have strong practical experience in project management, gained through managing a diverse range of complex projects. S/he must have the following:

    • Knowledge of key issues in the area of adolescent health and life skills, including mental health
    • Experience working on programs related to health education and access in Kenya, including some program design experience
    • Deep knowledge of primary and secondary education system in Kenya
    • Knowledge of the structure and functioning of health systems at the national and county levels
    • Deep understanding of the structure of government as it relates to approvals, partnerships and program delivery
    • Understanding of the intersectionality of rights-based approaches required to serve adolescents, including at the systems level
    • Excellent networks within the Kenyan health and education sectors
    • Understanding of child protection issues including a clear personal record
    • Effective management of complexity and rapid change
    • Thrives within a diverse, intercultural environment
    • Good knowledge and handling of project and program management methodology and techniques
    • Ability to work positively with the wide range of individuals involved in program management
    • Strong leadership and management skills including management of diverse teams of staff, volunteers and partners
    • Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures
    • Ability to find innovative ways to resolve problems
    • Digitally savvy
    • Excellent written and spoken English and Kiswahili
