    Climate & Inclusive Insurance Specialist

    Job Purpose: 

    Reporting to the Head of Emerging Consumers Innovation, the role holder will be responsible for developing assigned channel(s), managing property insurance initiatives, and growing regional presence & diversifying product portfolio to provide sales and operations related support growth of climate insurance with an aim of growing the revenue and number of customers within the emerging consumer segment.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Sourcing of property & climate insurance business opportunities for EMC business.
    • Manage relationships with existing flood insurance and property clients, intermediaries, and partners.
    • Participate in conducting market intelligence and initiate initiative-taking and reactive business growth and retention initiatives.
    • Promote and sensitize inclusive property insurance product to the entire insurance sector through field visits, exhibitions, and farm visits.
    • Engage with reinsurers and risk assessors to develop/refine inclusive property insurance solutions that suit the need for the local market to grow this line of business.
    • Assist Head of Emerging Consumers Innovation to gather marketing intelligence and statistics to facilitate development of strategies to give the company a competitive advantage in inclusive property insurance space.
    • Diversify emerging consumer’s product portfolio to meet risk protection & investment needs of target consumer segments.
    • Create and manage and retain winning partnerships with key product delivery stakeholders.
    • Manage sales costs to ensure profitability.
    • Ensure retention of clients, intermediaries, and partners as per segment targets
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

    Knowledge, experience, and qualifications required:

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as environmental science, climate science, risk management, finance, or insurance.
    • Strong analytical skills.
    • Knowledge of climate science, climate modelling, and climate-related risks.
    • Understanding of insurance principles and underwriting processes.
    • Excellent communication and people skills.
    • Proficiency in data analysis and modelling software.
    • Familiarity with regulatory compliance in the insurance industry.
    • Relevant certifications in Climate Finance.
    • At least 3-4 years’ experience in the financial sector and an added advantage in a climate or agriculture finance position.

    Head of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)

    Job Purpose:

    This role will provide oversight and direction for the management of all risks across Britam Holdings and its subsidiaries. The role will partner with the business leadership team to ensure the strategic vision of the Business units / Segments is developed with consideration for the risks involved, and proactively manage the risk/reward equation.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide oversight and direction for the management of all risks across the Group and is responsible for the identification, assessment and management of all risks associated with both new and existing business. 
    • Responsible for ensuring that the organization proactively determines which risks it will accept and retain, and hence actively manage. 
    • Responsible for establishing a framework to express the firm's appetite for risk and understand the parameters, which they are managing as part of the risk/reward equation when growing shareholder value.
    • Develop enterprise risk management tools, practices and policies to analyze and report on financial market and enterprise risks and to manage risks according to the enterprise risk management framework and relevant policies.
    • Develop appropriate and comprehensive risk reports to be reviewed by the Director, Risk and Compliance for consumption by various stakeholders across the Group.
    • Monitor and analyze risks within the business and report on these risks to the Director, Risk and Compliance.
    • Compile and communicate enterprise risk management policies and best practices.
    • Develop staff training programs that build enterprise risk awareness within the Group.

    Knowledge, experience and qualifications required

    • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, finance, business administration or related field.
    • Professional certifications or qualifications in Actuarial Science or Risk Management, are required.
    • A minimum of 5+ years in senior-level risk management experience in the insurance sector.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to motivate and manage a diverse team toward strategic goals of the risk management function.
    • Demonstrated ability to build consensus across various constituencies and achieve results through the effort of others.
    • Strong planning and organizational skills, with an ability to establish a strategic direction and subsequently outline initiatives and develop priorities in support of that vision.

    Senior Corporate Sales Executive

    Job Purpose:

    Growth of retail medical insurance business to meet set annual premium targets.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Secure new business directly or through intermediaries.
    • Maintain relationships with intermediaries to ensure targets are met. 
    • Provide excellent customer service to clients.
    • Follow up on renewals for retail medical insurance business.
    • Forward proposal forms to underwriting department.
    • Conduct regular training to the FA and IFA network as well as other intermediaries.
    • Prepare weekly reports as required. 
    • Undertake initial underwriting in accordance with set guidelines to ensure sound acceptance of risk. 
    • Respond to customer and client enquiries in a timely manner.
    • Assist in conducting market research to aid in continuous improvement of the product.
    • Secure all on boarding documentation and premiums for new business.

    Corporate Sales Executive

    Job Purpose: 

    Growth of IFA business to meet set annual premium targets.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Secure new GI business through intermediaries.
    • Retain existing GI business as per set objectives.
    • Maintain excellent customer service to intermediaries and clients.
    • Service existing business and resolve customer complaints.
    • Follow up on renewals for general insurance business.
    • Forward proposal forms to underwriting department.
    • Follow up premium collections for GI clients.
    • Prepare weekly and daily reports as required.
    • Undertake initial underwriting in accordance with set guidelines to ensure sound acceptance of risk.
    • Respond to customer and client enquiries.
    • Follow up on commissions and claims issues emanating from intermediaries.
    • Recruitment of intermediaries as per set objectives.
    • Conversion of FA’s and IFA’S in the market to ensure all are placing general insurance business.
    • Continuous execution of initiatives and strategies per market to ensure meeting of set objectives and reviewing them where need be.
    • Training of intermediaries on general insurance products and submitting training schedules to supervisors. 
    • Use authorised incentive scheme to bring in new business through training intermediaries on the same and marketing it. 
    • Creating strategic partnerships with intermediaries for maximum business support. 
    • Sharing of market intelligence with supervisor.
    • Work closely with underwriter and branch manager and other lines of business to achieve set objectives.

    Knowledge, experience and qualifications required:

    • Bachelors’ degree in a business related field.
    • Professional qualification in Insurance (DIP ACII, DIP IIK, ACII, IIK).
    • 2-4 year’s relevant experience in the insurance industry.

    Job Purpose:

    • Collaborate with internal departments, including customer service and claims processing, to ensure that our insurance products and programs are accessible and easy to understand for all customers.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices related to inclusive insurance and incorporate this knowledge into our product development and marketing strategies.

    • Ensure retention of clients, intermediaries, and partners as per segment targets

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and external partners.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
