Justice & Peace Commission Consultant at Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops

Introduction

The KCCB – General Secretariat is the National Administrative, facilitative and Coordinative arm through which the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops implements and co-ordinates various Pastoral programs at the National level and undertakes all those responsibilities which express the mission of the Catholic Church in Kenya.

It is seeking an outstanding, dynamic and results oriented individual to fill the following key position.

Overall Purpose of the Job

• The consultant will carry out a research on Climate and Conflicts in Different Regions of Kenya, comprising of a desk study (to be started asap) and field research (to be started as soon as possible) with the aim of:
• Increase the understanding of the specific regional and local vulnerabilities to climate change
• Understand the knowledge base and adaptability of local communities towards climate change
• Understand the interconnection of the impacts of the climate crisis on the ongoing conflicts in the region
• Understand the opportunities for collective resilience among affected communities
• Inform current and future peace building programs and projects
