My client is a leading developer, owner and operator within the clean energy space who hires key talent from finance, engineering and development backgrounds. They are currently looking for a Managing Director with a blended Engineering and finance background to be based in Nairobi, who will provide strategic leadership and brand development as a leading renewable IPP actor in Africa.

The successful candidate will be responsible for renewable energy projects up to 50MW and ensure all operations adhere to targets and budgets, as well as HSE and business compliance standard and regulations. Whilst developing and implementing strategy in line with the mandate it will be paramount for the Managing Director to build relationships with stakeholders in the IPP sector (Governments, Lenders, O&M providers).

Key requirements for this Managing Directors role are as follow's;

• Master's degree in engineering or business
• Minimum 15 years' experience (5 of which in senior level management)
• Sub-Saharan Africa power/renewable energy industry focus (transaction experience with IPP development and engagement with international development finance institutions)
• Exposure to non/limited recource project financing of energy projects
• Ability to manage and undertake financial duties for a highly complex business covering multiple jurisdiction
