Technical Support

 

· Ensure good store keeping for pharmacy drugs, prepare and manage pharmacy inventory.

Primary Function:

The main responsibility will be to provide education about HIV-related issues and adherence counseling services at health facility level within a HIV Comprehensive Care Centre (CCC).

Primary Responsibilities:

· Provide psychosocial and continuous support as well as treatment preparation to clients in the CCC

· Identify and address challenges/barriers to adherence

· Organize and facilitate support group sessions for infected and affected clients including groups with special needs e.g. discordant couples, youth/adolescent and children

· Address aspects of behavior change in relation to HIV and ART

· Support clients disclose their HIV status

· Facilitate the delivery of PWP information to clients enrolled in CCC

· Participate in home visits as appropriate to execute plan of care for clients

· Ensure client records are well maintained and compile periodic reports as necessary

· Ensure proper referral of patients where necessary including following up and reporting on the outcomes as necessary

· Coordinates patient tracking activities supported by the community health volunteers including documentation and reporting of defaulter tracing activities

Reporting

· Reports to the facility in charge and PACT Longitudinal Care Improvement Specialist.

· Works in collaboration and guidance of the Clinical Technical team.

· Compile and submits monthly reports on Psychosocial Support and Patient tracking activities.

Academic Qualifications:

· Diploma in Counseling Psychology

· NASCOP Certified HTC (HIV Testing and Counseling) Counselor

Experience & Skills:

· 1 – 2 years’ experience, 1 year of which should be as an Adherence Counselor in HIV service delivery.

Key Activities

· Provide high quality clinical HIV patient care according to national guidelines including leading clinical effectiveness efforts, ensuring implementation of recommended clinical protocols, national guidelines.

· Ensure that the health facility patient care is provided according to agreed basic care standards as defined by national guidelines and agreed performance measures.

· Establish clinic systems that support patient care appropriate to the staffing levels and patient volumes, including supporting the establishment of patient flow with attention to infection control; patient referral systems within the facility and with other institutions.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

· Provide technical leadership to drive the implementation of procurement and supplies policies and plans aimed at cost effective acquisition of high quality, materials, goods and services.

 

· Prepare strategic procurement plans and budget outlining key activities to be undertaken, the projected cost, funding sources as well as expected outcomes

 

· Develop and implement flexible and responsive procurement and stores management system for monitoring and tracking costs as well as maintaining up-to-date inventory of goods and services.

· Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing and Supplies Management plus membership to a professionally recognized body.

. Roles and Responsibilities

 

• Provide confidential HIV counseling and testing to persons at risk for HIV infection as per Kenya HTS national guidelines
• Conduct HTS using provider initiated testing and counseling, voluntary counseling and testing and targeted family testing approaches.
• Provide special group counseling e.g. couples, discordant couples, youths and adolescents
• Address issues of behavior change in relation to HIV and ART
• Facilitate the delivery of HIV Prevention information to clients
• Provide psychosocial support and assist with linkage to referral services

PURPOSE:

The Site Data Officer will be responsible for patient health records and patient files within the site. The role will include updating IQCare and generating facility reports.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Management of the filing system at the facility;

· Data reconstruction and computerization from source documents as required;

· Data entry and updating of data management tools and routine data in the IQCare database;

· Data quality assessments for CCC patient records;

· Compile monthly facility reports (e.g. MOH 711, MOH 731), upload to DHIS and share with SCHMT as required;

· Facility level data analysis and implementation of DDIU strategies; and

· Disseminate monthly and quarterly reports to the facility multi-disciplinary team.

Job Purpose

Under the general supervision of a Physician, perform routine clinical laboratory tests per prescribed procedures and acceptable practice pertaining to HIV/AIDS drugs for the site

Job duties

Technical Support

· Manage laboratory equipment in serviceable condition at all times inventory and ensure good store keeping for pharmacy drugs

· Prepare the laboratory equipment and specimen for tests as necessary

· Collect patients specimen for laboratory tests and analysis in the prescribed manner ensuring safe disposal of such specimen
