  • Kakamega County Water and Sanitation Company Ltd is a county corporation mandated to provide Water and Sanitation Services within the County of Kakamega. As part of our continued growth and team strengthening, we are looking for self-motivated, qualified, competent, seasoned and talented. This will be an officer working under the Commercial and Finance Manager. The officer will functionally report to the Commercial and Finance Manager and administratively to the Managing Director.

     

    Assistant Technical Manager

     

    Assistant Technical Manager Job Qualifications

    • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Water Engineering, Civil Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized university.
    • Have successfully served in a comparable position with similar responsibilities in like organizations for at least five (5) years,3 of which at a management level
    • Must be a registered member of the Engineers Board of Kenya
    • Have wide experience in the water sector;
    • Demonstrated outstanding leadership capability;
    • Have high degree of integrity and dependability; and
    • Have good interpersonal relations and communication skills.

    Internal Audit Manager

     

    Responsibilities for the Internal Audit Manager

    • Review internal control systems and make necessary recommendations
    • Prepare internal audit plans and ensure they are adhered to;
    • Plan, organize and complete audits to evaluate the effectiveness of the Company’s internal controls;
    • Undertake regular internal audits
    • Development and implementation of the annual audit plan, to include identification and assessment of the company’s key risks;
    • Monitor and assess management’s progress on past audit results and report related follow-up to Audit Committee reports;

    Internal Audit Manager Job Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting/Finance) or its equivalent from a recognized university.
    • Must be a member of a relevant professional body (ICPAK or Institute of Internal Auditors of Kenya)
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in auditing (public or private) 3 of which he/she must have worked at a senior similar capacity

    Responsibilities for the Human Resource & Admin Manager Job

    • Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
    • Maintains organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes.
    • Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.

    • Five (5)years’ experience with at least 3 years at senior management level;
    • Prior experience in managing a functional level in a large organization/busy environment
    • Understanding of labour laws.

    Responsibilities for the Managing Director Job

    • Strategic Advise -Provide strategic advice to the board and Chairperson so that they will have accurate view of the market and the company’s future. Provide leadership to senior management and staff.
    • Business planning-Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement by planning cost-effective operations and market development activities

    Technical Manager

     

    Responsibilities for the Technical Manager Job

    • Provide strategic and technical leadership in the Technical Services Department to ensure provision of high quality services to customers.
    • Steer the development of departmental policies, procedures and actions plans in line with the Company mission and objectives.
    • Overseeing sourcing, production, treatment and distribution of water;
    • Overseeing construction and maintenance of the water infrastructure;

    Technical Manager Job Qualifications

    • MSc Water Engineering, MSc Project Management or MSc Civil Engineering plus additional qualification in Management or any other relevant field from a recognized university will be preferred;
    • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Water Engineering, Civil Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized university.
    • A registered member of the Engineers Board of Kenya.
    • Seven (7) year experience, five (5) of which should be at senior management at a water utility
    • Have wide experience in the water sector;
    • Demonstrated outstanding leadership capability;
    • Have demonstrated project management skills and hands on experience in project management
    • Must be conversant with the reforms in the water sector
    • A self-driven person with high need for achievement.
