    Program Consultant

    He/she will work as part of the WEE team and under the overall guidance of the WEE Advisor. S/he will also be in close communication with focal points from the partners involved in the implementation of the Project and the wider WEE set of partners.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Implementation, coordination and management of the Post-harvest initiative – in the lead-up, execution, and post-event phases, coordination and management of the Postharvest project, providing essential support to ensure the effective delivery and implementation of the initiative; consistent with UNWOMEN rules and regulations, including:
      • Partnership management, communication and coordination for the project;
      • Maintain knowledge repository; write up of cases and prepare inputs;
      • Ensure information and updates are shared with all partners of the project;
      • Organize and follow-up (including minuting and filing of minutes and records) regular meetings;
      • Monitoring and supporting compliance with donor requirements and reporting results including:
      • Maintain the donor reporting matrix; tracking donor contracts to ensure timely reporting, UN Women’s contractual obligations and other delivery and reporting requirements;
      • Support the implementing partners in timely preparation of reports - follow up with partners for timely delivery of results based programming; consistently review partners’ reports to obtain the information required for reporting and quality control;
      • Draw good practices and knowledge emerging from the initiative and document them for learning;
      • Identify scale up/optimization opportunities in the projects and disseminate them to inform adaptation of ongoing programs, development of new component in the projects and/or inform new programs/activities;
      • Act as primary liaison with partners on evaluation related matters;
      • Disseminate M&E findings and information to partners and relevant stakeholders;
      • Support to programme development.
    • Managing the regional resilience and gender agenda, including thematic follow-up, contribution to concept development, technical advisory, drawing on the Rockefeller project, liaison with country offices;
    • Support the innovation agenda in the region;
    • Programme support to the Cost of the Gender Gap study;
    • Support in any other duties as requested.

    Education

    Required Skills and Experience

    • Master’s Degree in development-related studies (Business or Public Administration, Economics, Political Sciences or Social Sciences would be desirable, but is not required).

    Experience

    • At least five years of progressively responsible programme support /management experience in an international team environment;
    • Experience with successful coordination and management of programmes and partnerships, preferably in the UN system;
    • Experience in reporting monitoring, evaluation and results-based management, including donor reporting;
    • Experience of supporting capacity of partner organizations in the areas of planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting;
    • Demonstrated experience in capturing learning, documenting and sharing knowledge;
    • Familiarity with innovative approaches;
    • Knowledge and Experience of UN systems for finance and procurement;
    • Documented team-player with strong track record of timely and high quality delivery;
    • Experience in the usage of software packages including Microsoft Office packages.

    Language

    • Fluency in English is required, knowledge of another UN language is an added advantage.
