The successful candidate will have a knowledge of dairy production, dairy equipment and animal health.
The key responsibilities of the Manager will include:
Oversee all day to day operations including milk production and quality.
Work closely with the maintenance staff ensuring that all equipment, machinery and facilities are kept to an optimum level.
Manage a team of local nationals providing support and training on best practises.
Control the budget for the site, liaising with the General Manager ensuring that all figures are correct and accurate.
Management of the milking herd
Carry out AI practises and mastitis treatments
The Dairy Manager will ideally have:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role.
Strong dairy farm management skills
Experience within Sub-Saharan Africa or the Middle East will be advantageous.
A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry is preferred but not mandatory
