    Regional Sales Manager

    As the Regional Sales Manager for East Africa you will manage a regional sales team to achieve the volumes of sales required in for the Merck Biopharma business in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda.

    Key responsibilities

    • Ensure that agreed targets are delivered in accordance with regional and national targets
    • Manage the Sales Representative Team by maintaining control of activities and costs in the region within the terms of company policies
    • Provide the Sales Representatives with the necessary support for learning and growth and alignment with Merck values
    • Set and manage the Sales and Expense budget for the specific region / area and ensure ROI are always assessed
    • Liaise and build relationships with key opinion leaders in conjunction with the relevant sales representative
    • Work internally with Marketing, Regulatory and Finance
    • To identify business opportunities in line with the product range

    The successful candidate will have

    • A background in pharmaceutical sales
    • Previously lead remote sales teams
    • Strong leadership ability
    • A focus on driving a performance culture
    • Worked in a complex International organisation
    • Existing work rights in Kenya

    Desirable

    • Experience in Generics
    • Experience of Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda
