    Project Outreach Associate - Uasin Gishu

    Job purpose

    To contribute towards implementation of SEAL projects in the specific country of intervention. In addition, support counties in the actualization of their county strategic plans aligned to Vision 2030.

    Responsibilities for the Project Outreach Associate NGO Job

    Project implementation and training

    • Assist in the planning, organizing conferences, seminars and training workshops
    • Assist in office administration, particularly pertaining to records and payments
    • Assist in Training Peer educators, teachers on integration of life skills and parents on Parent- child communication
    • Work closely with teachers to identify and train peer educators from interventions schools
    • Spearhead establishment of BCCG clubs and activities per term
    • Work closely with teachers to plan and organize thematic events
    • Assist in identification of university mentors to mentor peer educators
    • Participate in project, organizational and institutional meetings take notes/minutes and work harmoniously with other stakeholders
    • Help confirm and organize future meeting times.

    Communication

    • Identify and develop project human success stories
    • Work with project team to develop picture speaks and newsletter for various activities
    • Work with the Communication Officer to develop project communication materials
    • Work with the Communication Officer in project and organization brand enhancement

    Resource Mobilization

    • Take part in resource mobilization through participation in proposal development with other program staff.
    • Conduct donor research via the Internet to assist the project team in identifying, targeting donors and funding opportunities.

    Project Monitoring & Evaluation

    • Implement the data collection tools as provided by the donor and ICL monitoring and evaluation policies
    • Consolidate project qualitative and quantitative data
    • Maintain data records
    • Ensure evaluations of trainings and project activities are conducted, reports written and submitted to the County Officer.
    • Assist in preparing activity reports and monthly reports in time for team reflection meetings.

    Requirements for the Project Outreach Associate NGO Job

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or its equivalent
    • A minimum of one year experience in Health related projects specifically Youth Sexual Reproductive Health (YSRH)
    • Should be Computer Literate and proficient
    • Highly motivated to work in a high-performance environment
    • Willingness to learn, tackle challenges and seek creative solutions in everyday assignments
    • Demonstrate well-developed interpersonal communication skills
    • Must be able to meet urgent deadlines, work with grace under pressure, and function well in a team.

    Project Manager

    Job purpose

    You will provide management and oversight to the overall design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the program activities in Nairobi, Machakos and Uasin Gishu Counties. In addition, you will support the county in the actualization of their county strategic plan aligned to Vision 2030.

    Responsibilities for the Project Manager Job 

    • Project Initiation
    • Conduct a SWOT analysis alongside the M&E and Resource Mobilization department to identify national and donor priorities (areas of need)
    • In consultation with key stakeholders, identify key issues to be addressed, and the strategies thereof
    • Develop feasible and sustainable operational plans that can generate funding
    • Project Planning and implementation
    • Ensure timely execution of project deliverables are as outlined in the sub-agreement
    • Spearhead the assessment of risks and strategies to mitigate against potential occurrence of the risk(s)
    • Participate in instituting proper procurement planning through source selection, contract administration and close out
    • Ensure effective utilization of project resources including budget control and value for money
    • Develop quality plans to ensure the project meets the intended objectives
    • Effectively manage information and relations with key stakeholders in the best interest of the program beneficiaries.
    • Ensure participatory approaches in project implementation towards sustainability
    • Project Resource Mobilization and Sustainability
    • Spearhead county resource mobilization in grants and products through participation in proposal development with County Officers and staff
    • Design, implement and evaluate projects with an aspect of resource mobilization.
    • Initiate collaborations with the government, community and corporate
    • Project Finance, Monitoring, Evaluation & Control
    • Take responsibility of the finance budget.
    • Participate in reviewing the goals and objectives as set out in the scope of work
    • Review the project reports (narrative and data)
    • In accordance with donor requirements, create or maintain procedures for capturing and publishing monthly, quarterly and annual project technical and financial reports
    • Provide effective feedback to the target institutions and beneficiaries
    • Ensure participatory approaches in M&E
    • Any other duties and responsibilities in line with Project Management
    • Staff management
    • Participate in the recruitment, induction and deployment of the project staff in line with ICL HR policies.
    • Manage the performance of staff on a daily basis
    • Liaise with HR in staff coaching and capacity development.

    Requirements for the Project Manager Job 

    • The ideal candidate should have a minimum of bachelor’s degree in social sciences. Masters in Project management will be an added advantage.
    • Professional qualifications in project coordination and management, leadership & management, organizational development, monitoring & evaluation or strategic planning.
    • At least 7 years relevant working experience in health project including designing and implementing.
    • Experience in working in PEPFAR, SIDA, UN funded projects is desirable
    • Relevant experience in monitoring program implementation using qualitative and quantitative approaches
    • Be an excellent facilitator and have mentorship experience.
    • Knowledge on programming highly desirable
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • People management skills
    • Ability to work with a team, foster a team approach and incorporate capacity building activities into the program
    • Ability to analyze and utilize program development gaps for designing programs.
    • Experience in collecting data that will influence decision making and programming
    • Demonstrates the ability to negotiate with senior managers at county and national level
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Strong IT and analytical skills.
