Public Health Officer Job Responsibilities

• Provide advice on proper cleaning procedures and cleaning materials
• Ensure sanitary inspections are carried
• Ensure safety and quality of food and water by conducting regular food and water inspections in consultation
• with the relevant departments and Senior
  Conduct regular sanitary inspections of hospital facilities and recommend appropriate chemicals and rodenticide to be used
• Ensure proper use of color coded dustbins, storage, transportation and disposal waste
• Ensure segregation of waste is done and incineration is carried out
• Ensure drains, manholes, soak pit/septic tanks are dislodged and maintained in a clear state

Qualifications for the Public Health Officer Job

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health Sciences
• Familiarity with the necessary provisions of the Public Health Act Cap 242 and Food, Drugs and other
• Chemical Substances Cap 254 and other regulation in force
• Registered by the Public Health Officers Association

Medical Pharmaceutical Technologist Job Responsibilities

• Check prescriptions for proper dosages and prepare prescribed pharmaceutical products as necessary
• Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to clients or to other health care professionals and advise them on indications, contra-indications, adverse effects, drug interactions and dosage
• Provide counselling on prescribed medications where appropriate
• Take part in supply chain management to ensure that essential stocks are available in the main pharmacy and internal outlets you may be responsible for

Position summary

Provide nutritional care to patients in various disease states and conditions; monitor, assess, and optimize nutrition status based on a patient’s current medical condition and/or nutrition adequacy; make recommendations for tube and intravenous feedings and/or dietary supplements.

Dietitian & Nutritionist Job Responsibilities

• Screen and assess patients on admission for risk of under-nutrition as per protocol
• Ensure patients receive appropriate menus according to their oral and fluid status
• Continually update Nursing Staff on patients’ oral and fluid status
• Provided assistance to patients in menu selection in accordance with their oral diet and fluid status, whilst incorporating prescribed nutritional supplements and patient food preference
• Oversee food preparation
• Maintain adequate menu items, standard portion sizes and menu specifications for all standard and therapeutic menus
• Make appropriate product substitutions in agreement with therapeutic diet specifications.

Clinical Officer Job Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth delivery of health services to patients by RCOs
• As part of the medical team, contribute to the improvement of health service delivery Planning Plan, roster and monitor the work of RCOs at the hospital
• Provision of health education
• Participate in the provision of education for prevention of disease and promotion of health at least once a month
• Participate in at least one outreach health activity in a month
• Provide guidance in the development of departmental work plan and budget based on the hospital strategic plan

Medical Laboratory Technologist Job Responsibilities

• Laboratory procedures and tests
• Prepare stains, reagents, media andsolutions necessary for the performance of all laboratory tests
• Receive specimens or obtain specimens directly from patients
• Store, culture, isolate, harvest cell cultures
• Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures involving manual or automated techniques
• Participate in various QA/QC and regulatory agency activities within the assigned section, including developing and documenting QC monitors
