Roles for the Senior Legal Officer Job

• Negotiating direct out of court settlements on third party claims and recoveries
• Receiving Claims summons on behalf of the company.
• Dealing with recoveries – knock for knock and third party recoveries
• Giving legal advice and opinions on claims involving third party injuries and recoveries.
• Advising clients/intermediaries on court process/recovery process.
• Advising clients on finalization of court cases/recovery process.
• Ensuring adequacy of reserves on claim files with legal matters
• Appointment of service providers for legal related claims.
• Formulating Service Level Agreements with lawyers in the panel and ensuring provision of efficient services.
• Participate in drawing and vetting of contracts, leases, and other legal instruments.

Senior Legal Officer Job Qualifications

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university
• Postgraduate Diploma from Kenya School of Law
• Certificate of Admission to the Roll of Advocates of the High court of Kenya
• Current Practicing Certificate
• Computer literate and able to research on legal matters
• At least (2) two years’ experience in similar position
• Practical knowledge in Civil Court Procedures
• Excellent Communication, Interpersonal and Presentation Skills
• Ability to work well under pressure with others as a team player and meet work deadlines with minimum or no supervision
• Proactive, self motivated and aggressive
