    Product Line Manager, Biometric

    As a Product Line Manager you will own the biometrics portfolio of products, solutions and services at all stages of the lifecycle with the objective of maximizing sales revenues, market share and profit margins. The product line manager is an inter-disciplinary role which bridges the development, operations and commercial teams.

    What you will be doing

    • You will work closely with Business Unit leadership, Innovation, Product Marketing and broader product management to identify priority segments, and interface with development on execution of product plans that support business objectives.
    • you will own the end-to-end product lifecycle from planning through delivery for the Physical Access Control Business Unit’s biometrics product portfolio.
    • you will define features and functions of the segment products, solutions and services based on market requirements
    • Translate business objectives as well-written market requirement documents (MRD) in order to validate product requirement documents (PRD), which are developed by engineering and R&D for product development. This includes translating customer and partner research, competitive intelligence, trends, economic signals for the definition of product strategy and documenting requirements.
    • Guarantee competitive analyses based on lab and in field test/reference of competitive products for bench-marking purposes.
    • Own and report out on P&L for each product line, making adjustments where necessary to deliver optimum return on investments.
    • Define the KPI Dashboard for the product lines – including defining measures, setting goals, reporting on progress and recommending tactics to improve KPI’s.
    • Implement an integrated Agile process with R&D and Product Marketing.
    • Responsible for defining overall User Experience of our products/solutions and successful market fit.
    • Collaborate with engineering to architect and deliver products that are easy to implement and adopt, and also scales for large volumes of customer usage.
    • Lead the balance of business needs with technology assessments, and recommend alternative approaches to meet design requirements when needed.
    • Collaborate with customers, industry influencers, and our sales organization to understand market opportunities, prioritize product requirements, and thorough functional and technical design.
    • Partner with product marketing to deliver sales enablement, go-to-market plans, pricing and packaging, competitive analysis, messaging and field training for your products.
    • Lead development and negotiations of strategic partnerships with 3rd party providers, integration partners and manage existing relationships with alliances.
    • Analyze market conditions and understanding requirements for new products, improvements to existing products and phasing out products
    • Manage and coordinate product, solution and service market introductions per region and guarantee adequate monitoring of objectives and defined success factors
    • Coordinate cross-functionally on all aspects of the product through it’s life cycle with operations, supply chain, engineering, training, quality, sales and support
    • Conduct business case and feasibility analysis for strategic product development and new product introductions, based on which company decisions can be made for funding on go/no-go decisions
    • Ensure, through the engagement with the quality team, ISO compliancy on all product development programs
    • Pro-actively manage product beta programs to gain further market experience through channel as well with end users

    What we are looking for

    • Minimum 7 years business, technical or product management experience
    • Knowledge and understanding of a broad range of biometric technology (e.g. fingerprint and facial recognition) as well as applications is mandatory.
    • Knowledge of physical access control and the physical security technology industry desirable.
    • Knowledge of contactless RFID credentials, readers and door controller products desirable.
    • Ability to conduct and present product financial analysis
    • Capable of establishing credibility with sales force and customers
    • Should have formal product development process experience

    Education and/or Experience

    • BS Degree – Engineering or Computer Science
    • MBA preferred
