The Life & Peace Institute (LPI) is an international centre that supports and promotes nonviolent approaches to conflict transformation through a combination of research and action that entails the strengthening of existing local capacities and enhancing the preconditions for building peace. LPI envisions a world where peace, justice and non-violent relations prevail through people’s active work and commitment. LPI has been active in making contributions towards achieving this goal since 1985. LPI works with a variety of local and regional partners in the Horn of Africa (Somalia, Sudan, Kenya, Ethiopia) and in the Great Lakes region. At the core of LPI’s peacebuilding work is its commitment to reflectivepractice and learning**. This commitment, captured in the Institute’s third strategic priority - Knowledge and Learning to enhance practice - is accompanied by the recognition of the need for documentation, learning, and sharing of generated evidence and knowledge. Your role on our team is to be excited about learning and meticulous for documentation. You will assist with building monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) systems focused on data collection, data aggregation, data analysis and reporting (internal and external). This position will provide support to LPI in-house and to partners. You will be an expert listener and bring a range of experience for designing systems to support the reporting and learning components of our work. The MEL Officer will be based in Nairobi and will travel to programme implementation locations in** Kenya and Somalia**. This position will be a resource for all programme staff to enhance design, monitoring, evaluation, learning and quality.
