    Country Manager - Kenya

    Job description

    Purpose:

    To implement the company global strategy by managing the country operations, sales and all related functions and resources to meet the growth targets in all products year to year.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Customer
      • Ensure ultimate customer satisfaction and retention
      • Ensure being aligned with the regional and global strategy and it’s implemented successfully on the ground
      • Meeting the service KPI’s agreed with the customers.
      • Stay close to the VIP client to protect them from the competition
      • Ensue continuously strengthening the customer relationship.
      • Setting local strategy in line with the regional and global one.
      • Maintaining a strong and transparent relationship with all stake holders
      • Cascading the strategy to all direct reports and teams.
      • Handling any escalated customer complaint
      • Report any action that might interfere with the proper functioning of the company or might have a negative effect on company’s image or brand
      • Review customer performance analysis done by CRM especially for top clients
    • People
      • Mange direct reports and ensure they are qualified to handle their role
      • Ensure same strategy is cascaded from each function head to his team
      • Working with the HR business partner to ensure training, retaining and developing all country personnel
      • Ensure motivating the whole station personnel
      • Working with the HR business partner on a proper succession plan and career paths to ensure business continuity
      • Setting KPI’s and conduct annual reviews for all direct reports
      • Managing change
      • Ensure continuous self-learning and development.
      • Promoting Aramex culture
      • Carry out the Performance management process on country level and ensure their specific objectives are SMART
      • Contribute to the proper implementation of the country training plan
      • Identify employees with high potential and propose career development
      • Interview and approve all direct reports hiring and ensure getting and promoting the right talents
      • Participate in hiring new key people to fill key roles.
      • Ensure having qualified leaders to relocate at any time to handle special projects (temporarily or permanent, globally, regionally)
      • Retain and attract talents
      • Empower the HR to ensure employee satisfaction, growth and adherence with global and local HR policies
      • Ensure the HR are having a proper incentives /bonus and reward scheme in place for all roles within the country.
      • Mentor and coach direct reports to build a solid team
      • Empower the direct reports and ensure they manage their team properly
      • Work with the HR business partner to restructure specific teams when and if needed
      • Facilitate the flow of information horizontally and vertically
      • Identify and propose training for direct reports
      • Ensure having a succession plan in place
      • Ensure HR creates job roles for any country specific jobs
      • Determine access requirements to information within the country to guarantee privacy and confidentiality based on sensitivity, classification, legal requirements and company policies, and pass to IT for implementation.
      • Develop and maintain the country response and recovery plan during a disruptive incident, using the tools and templates provided by the local business continuity coordinator working within the BIE team.

    Operations

    • Visit top customers quarterly to maintain and strengthen the relationship
    • Identify potential big business and taking the lead to capture the business
    • Build strong relationship with government entities to facility the flow of business locally
    • Build and maintain the brand and image of the company
    • Attend regularly local events to network and promote the business and the brand
    • Ensure compliance with local laws
    • Regular meetings with the direct reports to monitor accountability and performance
    • Ensure adherence to company policies in relation to all function (compliance, sustainability, HSSE etc...
    • Ensure operations are running effectively and efficiently to ensure delivering best quality service
    • Monitor closely all matters related to service to ensure ultimate customer satisfaction
    • Regularly building strong relationship with Aramex offices globally to facilitate the business Determine access requirements to information within the country to guarantee privacy and confidentiality based on sensitivity, classification, legal requirements and company policies, and pass to IT for implementation.
    • Develop and maintain country response and recovery plan during a disruptive incident, using the tools and templates

    Financial Results

    • Working with the relevant support functions including HR and Accounting to set the Country annual financial targets and budgets"
    • Ensure meeting and exceeding the P & L target.
    • Ensuring considerable growth year to year
    • Increase market share
    • Ensure having proper operating strategy to achieve the station targets
    • Managing the receivables and ensuring the sales cycles are completed by collecting money on time
    • Cost control and having efficient spending process in place
    • Monitor the country commercial performance on daily and monthly basis
    • Take all necessary measures to reduce cost without compromising quality and standards
    • Maintaining country positive cash flow by monitoring ACP regularly

    Profile:

    • An Active Leader, with a Can-Do Attitude
    • Bachelor’ degree or equivalent experience required
    • 2-3 years supply chain management experience in transportation, distribution and/or freight management
    • 5-7 years experience in a supervisory or management role
    • Full P&L management experience
    • Experience with contract administration, project management and metric development
    • Ability to interact effectively at multiple levels
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Strong relationship-building skills
    • Ability to develop and grow others
