Job Description

The incumbent shall be responsible for safe handling and delivery of parcels and messages from one place to the other using a motocycle.

Job Responsibilities

• Be alert on customers mobile requests to be able to execute promptly
• Ensure to identify a good location for business so as to achieve your sales target
• Pick up and carry messages, documents, packages, and other items from one place to other by motorcycle
• Load motorcycle with listed goods, ensuring goods are loaded correctly and taking precautions of hazardous goods.
• Unload and sort items collected along delivery routes
• Receive messages or materials to be delivered, and information on recipients, such as names, addresses, telephone numbers, and delivery instructions, communicated via telephone, two-way radio, or in person.
• Plan and follow the most efficient routes for delivering goods
• Sort items to be delivered according to the delivery route
• Obtain signatures and payments, or arrange for recipients to make payments.
• Record information, such as items received and delivered and recipients’ responses to messages.
• Call the recipient of the parcel or message to confirm directions
• Confirming delivery of parcels with the office and continue scouting for the next job
• Perform routine maintenance on motorbike, such as monitoring fluid levels and replenishing fuel.

Requirements

• At least 2 years as a rider for an organization
• Minimum KCSE graduate
• Must be computer literate and tech savvy
• Valid riding licence,
• Be a skilled safe rider
• Has expert knowledge of Nairobi roads and streets
• Possesses motorcycle maintenance skills
• Be trustworthy and discreet when handling confidential documents
• Have good customer service skills
• Be self-motivated and able to use their initiative
• Be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Possesses a clean Certificate of good conduct
• Good communication skills both in English & Swahili
