    Laboratory Technician

    Job Description

    • Reception of samples : receive the samples and check the correspondence between the request form and the samples; ensure that the collection of samples is correct according to the examinations requested; in case of delay of an examination; ensure the perfect preservation of the samples
    • Take charge of the CD4 count measure (back up test from the test realized as a POC with PIMA) according to the study SOP and the HIV tests (Determine, Unigold)
    • Prepare the DBS and the plasma samples from the blood samples according to the laboratory protocol and the SOP and prepare their shipments to the laboratories responsible for them (in link with MSF supply)
    • Fill out the study forms for each expedition (list of sample, export and import permit) according to the study SOP
    • Fill out the results forms and ensure their classification according to the study SOP
    • Ensure the perfect preservation of the samples between their preparation and their shipment
    • Ensure the perfect preservation of the samples until the end of the study
    • Ensure universal precautions in the laboratory

    Qualitative Research Field Worker

    Job Description

    • Set up the collection of qualitative data at the hospital according to the criteria defined in the study protocol
    • Assist the Qualitative Researcher to work in conjunction with the Quantitative study team in order to select the study population using the inclusion criteria
    • Conduct consent procedures
    • Conduct in depth interviews with 10 to 15 patients, using a semi-structured guide
    • Record the collected data using audio recording equipment and ensure the filing and storage of the data
    • Record detailed field notes in English
    • Assist in analysis of behavioral, social and programmatic influences on health for people living with HIV in Kenya
    • Assist as needed with transcribing/translating of interviews from audio recordings
    • Work closely with the hospital team and the study team, in particular the Qualitative Researcher, the Transcriber/Translator, and the Principle Investigator

    Quantitative Study Investigator

    Job Description

    • Setting up the study at the hospital according to the criteria defined in the study protocol
    • Carry out the selection of the study population for the quantitative and qualitative data collections based on the inclusion criteria
    • Conduct consent procedures, quantitative interviews and performs blood sampling according to the procedures detailed in the study protocol
    • Collect data using appropriate questionnaires and ensure that questionnaires are filed and stored according to the study protocol
    • Carry out the coding of the data on the electronic database (RedCap)
    • Ensure the validity of the data (checks)
    • Participate in the points of progress on the study at a defined frequency with the PI
    • Participate in the application process for obtaining the local export permit of the samples (DBS)

    Translator/Transcriber

    Job Description

    • Transcribe approximately 15 Dholou in depth interviews which have been audio recorded word for word into Dholou on a word document
    • Following transcription, translate into English on a word document.
    • File and archives all soft and audio copies of interviews as requested by the Qualitative Researcher.
    • Provide explanations for local customs, tradition, etc., that will help better understand the translations
    • Ensure confidentiality of all data is maintained as directed by the Mission/Project coordination team
    • Ensure high levels of neutrality and accuracy when transcribing translating
