sQuid is one of the 4 organisations implementing iMlango Project in Kenya. The company provides a digital attendance monitoring system and online e-learning platform to 205 schools, and conducts support visits to schools in 4 regions (Kajiado, Kilifi, Makueni and Uasin Gishu). sQuid is responsible for maintaining strong school, Ministry of Education, Teachers’ Service Commission and community support of the project, and is also tasked with improving literacy outcomes amongst pupils.
Some of iMlango’s target successes include significant gains in pupils’ literacy and numeracy scores. To ensure the pieces of literacy e-learning content are delivered in an effective way, aligned with current curriculum, a Literacy Advisor is required to maximise teachers’ delivery and pedagogical methods. Preparing supportive documents, assisting teachers with appropriate lesson-planning, and use of data in teaching will consequently all be a part of the Advisor’s remit.
