    Communication Assistant

    The Role:

    To realise this vision, Oxfam in Kenya as an influencing organization, seeks to recruit a Communications Assistant who will contribute to Oxfam in Kenya’s role by maximising the quality and impact of Oxfam’s work and its partner’s programmes through the incorporation of enhanced communications messaging and tools. In collaboration with the programme team, identifies and develops innovative and effective ways of communicating Oxfam’s experiences and analysis with the broader operating context with the view to facilitate change.

    The Role holder will amongst other qualifications, knowledge and experience:

    • Have an undergraduate degree in Communication related field (Communication, Journalism or Public Relations),
    • Have experience of working in a communications, public relations or media role,
    • Working in development sector is an added advantage,
    • Demonstrate ability to identify and produce compelling human interest stories, work independently and as part of a team,
    • Provide support at a range of organisational levels and ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects, to prioritise work and meet deadlines,
    • Have excellent English language writing skills and a working knowledge of Swahili,
    • Good computer literacy skills including the use of desktop publishing software and
    • Photography, video production and editing skills
