Junior Data Scientist at Nakala Analytics Ltd

We are seeking a Junior Data Scientist (ML, Data Enineering & Data Visualization)  to support one of our clients data science needs. As a Junior Data Scientist , you can expect to spend a large proportion of your day executing the following tasks:

Key Responsobilities (Mandatory):

• Improving on the existing Data pipeline by integrating disparate databases.
• Maintaining & Improving the performance of Machine Learning Models written in Python & R.
• Develop data visualizations using Tableau.

Supportive Responsobilitie:

• Look for the right design patterns, libraries, frameworks, and processes
• Develops data solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.
• Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development and proposed solutions.
• Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
• Protect operations by keeping information confidential
• Creating systems that support seamless transition between data integration, data visualization, and modelling phases of data science.

Requirements

1. 3+ years of experience as a software engineer & or data engineer & or data scientist
2. Sharp in Python  (Flask, Pandas, Numpy & Dask)
3. Basic Understanding of tableau
4. Understanding of machine learning.
5. Experience coding, testing and documenting code, including all front end functionality and templating using contributed modules and developing custom modules as needed.
6. Experience working in an agile environment.
7. Experience building complex web systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
8. Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project.
9. Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams and management to collect requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates and meet production deadlines.
10. Experience with professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations.
11. Experience with data integration using big data systems such as spark
12. Knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure best practices

Qualifications

• Qualifications: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Experience: Strong software engineering + database development experience.
