    CaLP Programme Manager

    Position Summary

    Successful candidate will join the CaLP team in the Horn of Africa region. S/he will focus on delivering existing commitments, maintaining effective engagement with a wide range of actors and the wider community, exploring opportunities for further engagement within the scope of the agreed strategy and plans as well as developing new funding applications.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Lead the planning and management of training courses in the region.
    • Manage relationships with certified trainers and Training Partner Organizations.
    • Occasionally facilitate or co-facilitate courses (subject to relevant skills and experience).
    • Actively promote the use of capacity building resources.
    • Contribute to further development of overall capacity building plans by providing feedback on changing training needs and interests.
    • Convene Cash Transfer Programming (CTP) actors to collaborate and share knowledge, including planning and delivery of webinars and learning events.
    • Promote the use of CTP standards and guidance, exploring the option of dedicated learning events on new standards.
    • Prepare relevant synthesis reports akin to others generated by the East Africa team.
    • Plan and manage the development of case studies or other learning products.
    • Explore ways of strengthening dissemination activities to enhance the uptake of resources.
    • Lead and support the delivery of existing commitments related to gender and CTP.
    • Support the strengthening of coordination capacity at national and regional level.
    • Liaise with Cash Working Group leads in multiple countries on a regular basis.
    • Arrange meetings of CWG leads.
    • Engage with government bodies, clusters and other humanitarian systems to promote and enhance the coordinated use of cash.
    • Contribute to regional perspectives & global policy debates & at the same time disseminating information on global policy debates.
    • In collaboration with relevant staff, support the development and implementation of a regional communications plans to aid the dissemination of CTP evidence and the work more broadly.
    • Support the Administration & Communications Officer to ensure East Africa information bulletins are regularly produced.
    • Contribute to the updating of the website.
    • Lead an ‘audit’ of member engagement in the region.
    • Develop and implement plans to support enhanced engagement with all members.
    • Develop and manage ‘member only’ or ‘member priority’ events.
    • Represent the organization with members, non-member, donors and other external stakeholders as relevant.
    • Explore opportunities to promote the work of the organization in appropriate national and regional fora.
    • Manage grants and budgets as agreed with the Regional Representative.
    • Ensure internal monitoring and reporting systems are continuously updated.
    • Develop new funding applications to support the organization’s work in the region.
    • Produce high quality and timely donor reports related to any regional grants and contribute to global reports as relevant.
    • Work with all staff (locally and remotely) to ensure effective delivery of agreed plans.
    • Contribute to the work of the whole team within agreed priorities, capacities and plans.
    • Ensure that the organization complies with the procedures & processes of its host agencies and donors.
    • Explore and respond to new opportunities that emerge for the organization to advance its mission, in line with capacities, annual plan and strategy.

    Required Qualifications

    • Over four (4) years’ humanitarian experience in the areas for cash programming and food security.
    • Programme and grant management experience.
    • Understanding of Cash Transfer Programming in humanitarian contexts.
    • Knowledge of the international humanitarian system and understanding of some of the key debates related to cash transfers programming.
    • Strong communication/donor relation experience.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
    • Written and verbal communication skills in French is desired.
    • Skills and experience of facilitating training and/or events.
    • Experience of working in a network environment.
    • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
    • Understanding of gender programming. Strong coordination experience.
