Senior Electrical Technician at Voltalia

We are looking for an Electrician to undertake a variety of tasks relating to setting up electrical infrastructure on site. Your job will involve checking/supporting electrical wiring performed by 3rd-parties for a solar plant, avoiding troubleshooting malfunctions, blackouts and anticipating technical issues.

Due to the high amount of risk pertaining to this scope, electrician must be first and foremost responsible individual with great attention to safety precautions. The ideal candidate must be experienced in different kinds of electrical devices and systems. The goal will be mainly focused on the electrical identifications, routing and connections to avoid mistakes, to minimize the accident risks and maximize usability of electricity in all facilities. His/her scope will be dedicated to DC wiring from the solar modules to the junction boxes (up to 1500Vdc) and the transformer stations (Medium Voltage ac), but also the wiring linked to the ground connection, the CCTV systems and monitoring wiring (Low voltage).

Profile:

• Engineering school degree, BS degree in Engineering
• Proven experience as an electrician, Experience in industrial electrical systems
• Fluent English (spoken/written), Swahili (spoken), driving license
• Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.
• Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
