    Transcriber

    The Role

We are looking to fill a Transcriber/Data Analyst to join our team. The Transcriber/Data Analyst will be responsible for transcribing, reviewing, and organizing all calls that come into the Flare Dispatch Center. This role is important to our quality assurance and quality improvement plan as we work to grow our dispatch center and capacity.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Transcribing all calls that come into the Flare Dispatch Center
    • Organizing all call data for review by management
    • Analyzing data and developing regular reports based  on call review
    • Providing recommendations on system processes

    Job requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in statistics, economics, social sciences, medical sciences, or other relevant fields
    • 3-plus years of relevant research experience, including transcription experience (combined qualitative and quantitative research experience preferred)
    • Attention to detail
    • Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Swahili
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills mandatory
    • Cultural sensitivity and respect of confidentiality
    • Previous experience with transcription software a plus

    Method of Application

If you qualify, and have 3 years of the relevant experience described above, please send a 1-page CV in PDF format (if you don't have this ready, please google 1-page CV formats to get an idea). We'll only look at the first page of your CV, so please make sure it's no longer than one page. Please use that one page to highlight relevant previous roles and accomplishments in previous roles. It's limited space, so no need to say everything; instead, highlight the most relevant work experience and the points that you'd most like for us know about. Send the CV to joinus@flare.co.ke, specifying which position you’re applying to in the subject line. Please do not send a cover letter. In the email body, tell us about how you would like to apply your professional experience to the particular role - be specific about your previous experience and why you are a good fit for Flare and share the top 3 lessons you’ve learned in your career. Please be specific here, too: instead of saying that you've learned to be a good listener, for example, please describe which role you were in, how you learned the lesson, why it's important, etc. Happy applying!
