Technical Trainee at Robert Bosch

Your responsibilities:

•  Assess sites to ensure structural integrity and optimal tilt orientation of potential mounting surfaces.

• Install, Inspect, commission and maintain solar water heating systems and components.
• Review plumbing plans and specifications to determine the layout for SWHs.
• Support service partners in ensuring service delivery and compliance
• Provide technical assistance and product knowledge to distributors and service partners.
• Support marketing and business development activities.
• Prepare technical specifications, reports, cost estimates and other relevant documents for projects.
• Prepare and update procedures, methods and drawings.
• Demonstrate commercial sensitivity with ability to deliver results within agreed timelines and budgets.
• Report customer feedback and other expectations or areas of improvement (process, product, business strategy, etc.)
• Develop design specifications and functional requirements for residential, commercial, or industrial solar thermal systems or components.
• Create plans for solar thermal system development, monitoring, and evaluation of projects.

Main activities:

•  Interact Perform scheduled Installations of SWH systems and fixtures directly (Bosch projects) or indirectly (Service providers and distributors).
• Apply all codes of installations, repairs and maintenance
• Check that all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met
•  Ensure all installations are properly sized, aligned, properly fastened and supported if needed.
•  Ensure all installations meet the requirements of the appropriate codes

Your competencies and qualifications:

Education:

Tertiary qualification: Engineering/Science

Experience and Skills:

• MUST be a Licenced solar water heating technician
• 2 years solar water heating systems installation and designing
• Certification in plumbing will be an added advantage
• CAD skills will be an added advantage
• Commercial sensitivity with ability to deliver results within agreed timelines and budgets.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Self – motivated, Confident and outgoing personality
•  Ability to multi-task and get things done to completion
• A Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent networking and prospecting skills
• Maintain strong business relationships with clients
• A Holder of a driving license will be an added advantage
