    Lead Engineer

    Help build a mass-market profitable business that positively impacts millions of people in emerging markets. 

    This person should enjoy:

    • The architecture and coding challenges involved with scaling including reviewing and optimizing code, logic, and architecture.
    • Innovating every day in a fast paced startup environment and taking ownership of the conversation platform. 
    • Applying technical depth towards achieving a bold product vision.

    Must have experience with:

    • Designing and implementing robust, reliable, scalable and secure microservices based solutions that use complex cloud-based infrastructures.
    • Using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery and consuming Web services using Rest or JSON. 
    • Using event based message oriented open-source container technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Swarm, Kafka, etc.

    Role will also likely involve using Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3, SQS, VPC, Lambda, CloudFront, CloudWatch), Databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL/MS SQL), Windows, Linux servers, HTTPS, REST API’s.

    Location is flexible for qualified candidates and support for relocation to Kenya is available if desired. Compensation will include meaningful equity ownership.
