EPN is an international Christian non-profit organization comprising of over 100 members of healthcare providers and professionals. The organization started in 1981 as a program of the World Council of Churches and has grown into a network of Church health associations, drug supply organizations and health facilities, other NGOs and individual members in 37 countries.
EPN has 20 Church Health Associations (CHAs) and 23 Drug Supply Organizations (DSOs), 28 Church Health Institutions (CHIs), 31 Individual members and 11 other organizations, making a total of 115 members spread over 37 different countries (*as of 2018). EPN members provide and support healthcare to communities in the most marginalized and remote areas where national government health services are limited. More than 300 million people rely on health care provided by the Network.
The network members are united in the belief that medicines are a cornerstone of many medical treatments and disease prevention. Access to quality-assured medicines and their rational use remains a big problem. EPN seeks to work with church systems to ensure that their pharmaceutical services are efficient and effective and are equipped to ensure the availability of affordable quality medicines to all who need them. We are looking for an Executive Director who shares our beliefs and our passion.
As the Executive Director of EPN, your responsibilities will comprise oversight and leading the Secretariat comprised up of employees and volunteers based in Nairobi. You will lead the operational management of the organization, and the implementation of the Board approved strategy.
You will also represent the organization externally and maintain positive relations with public authorities, Churches, representatives from politics and business, as well as various Christian Health Associations and Drug Supply Organizations, the media and peer organizations. You will promote cooperation with Network members.
As Executive Director, you are a highly accomplished visionary leader who combines proven pharmaceutical skills and disciplines with inspirational management skills to provide exceptional guidance to the staff and Network members and to oversee all areas of operations.
You will work to ensure effective management of ministry in alignment with EPN’s Vision, Mission, Core Values and strategic plans.
