    Communications Associate

    Job Description

    Strategic Communications:

    • Design and implement a strategic roadmap for driving visibility for CEP’s activities both online and offline 
    • Develop coherent and cohesive communications components that drive visibility for the business
    • Create impactful and engaging content and point of reference materials for all programmes and events
    •  Drive the growth and improve the engagement of audiences on all of our communications platforms.

    Content Creation:

    • Generate engaging and impactful content for various channels, including press releases, articles, blog posts, and social media updates.
    • Coordinate with creative teams to produce visually appealing and compelling multimedia content.

    Media Relations:

    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with local and international media outlets.
    • Draft and distribute press releases, media kits, and other materials to
    • enhance the organization's visibility.

    Digital Marketing:

    • Manage and curate content for the organization's website and social media
    • platforms.
    • Utilise SEO strategies to optimize online visibility and engagement.
    • Monitor analytics and provide regular reports on the effectiveness of digital campaigns.

    Event Coordination:

    • Assist in planning and executing events, conferences, and workshops to promote the CEP and its initiatives.
    • Coordinate media coverage and ensure effective communication during events.

    Brand Management:

    • Uphold and enhance the practice's brand identity across all communication channels.
    • Ensure consistency in messaging and visual representation.

    Community Engagement:

    • Act as a liaison between the practice and its community, fostering positive relationships.
    • Respond to inquiries, comments, and feedback from the community through various channels.

    Monitoring and Evaluation:

    • Implement monitoring tools to assess the impact of communication strategies.
    • Gather feedback and insights to continuously improve communication efforts.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in communications, preferably within the creative or cultural sector.
    • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
    • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms.
    • Strong organisational and project management abilities.
    • Knowledge of the African creative economy and cultural landscape is a plus.
