    IB Teacher of Physics

    Job Summary

    The teacher of Physics will be responsible for effective delivery of lessons and raising the standards of student achievement in higher level Physics, monitoring, and supporting student progress as well as supervising Internal Assessment, Personal Project, and Extended Essay. The Teacher will join an experienced team of IB educators in the Physics department.

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Demonstrate a passion for Physics that serves to motivate and encourage students to attain their personal best.
    • Design engaging learning and assessment activities that develop deep understanding.
    • Support students to be confident thinkers in a safe learning environment.
    • Monitor and track student progress.
    • Act as a Personal Project and Extended Essay supervisor.
    • Act as a form tutor/mentor to guide and support a small group of students
    • Contribute to the development of enrichment / co-curricular and experiential activities.
    • Participate in the residential programme and service-learning experiences for students.

    The requirements

    • A Bachelor’s degree with teaching qualification.
    • At least 2 years of experience teaching Physics at IB DP and MYP Level
    • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain an atmosphere of high expectations for teachers and students.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills in relating to parents, students, and other teachers
    • Willingness to engage with faculty members across the grade 1–12 continuum.
    • Inspire and motivate students gain a deeper appreciation for Physics.
    • Bolster academic attainment at both the MYP and DP, with particular attention being paid to students’ achievement in Physics.
