    ICT Assistant

    ICT Assistant: CHS/STP/ICT/01/2021

    Centre for Health Solutions – Kenya (CHS) is an indigenous, not-for-profit organisation that utilises local expertise and strategic partnerships to ensure the implementation of evidence-informed solutions and interventions to existing and emerging public health concerns. CHS is currently sourcing for a high calibre, self-motivated and dynamic individual to fill the position of ICT Assistant in Siaya: –

    Overall Job Function

    Reporting to the ICT Officer and working closely to ensure overall ICT Support for CHS offices and supported sites on all ICT functions, providing smooth, problem-free and well-documented systems to ensure achievement of CHS strategic goals.

    Key responsibilities

    1. Ensuring applications support, including hardware/Software Installations
    2. Receiving and logging requests for support from users and responding to the requests in a logical and prioritized manner.
    3. Assisting in resolving problems (e.g. poor performance) and faults (e.g. system failure) occurring in hardware and software operation.
    4. Ensuring all work is carried out and documented per required standards, methods and procedures.
    5. Liaising with Finance, Admin and Program departments to ensure integrated internal controls and complete, auditable support documentation
    6. Providing guidance and advice to staff on policy issues related to ICT equipment safety and maintaining the confidentiality and observing data protection guidelines of the organization
    7. Ensuring monitoring progress of requests for support and ensuring users and other interested parties are kept informed.
    8. Carries out any other reasonable duties within the overall function commensurate with the level of responsibilities of the position.
    9. Carrying out general maintenance to hardware in regards to cleaning and ensuring smooth functionality.
    10. Ability to train other staff in ICT function to empower staff to handle essential support matters.
    11. Assets management support and distribution accountability.
    12. Server support functions and minor AD functionality.
    13. And any other duties assigned to you by your supervisor

     Key reporting areas

    Functional Skills

    1. Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
    2. Team player motivated and driven individual.
    3. Great communication skills.
    4. Ability to priorities duties within the docket.
    5. Ability to learn and share knowledge with supported staff

    Person Specification

    1. Minimum Degree in Information Technology.
    2. A+ & N+ experience certification.
    3. MS Office, Windows and Server experience.
    4. Experience in Databases such as SQL.
    5. 3 Years works experience in a busy environment, preferably NGO sector
