    Principal - Pre-School

    JOB PURPOSE

    • The Pre-School Principal shall provide exceptional educational leadership that fosters a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children. The purpose of this role is to inspire and guide a team of educators in adopting innovative teaching methods, designing age-appropriate CBC teaching methods and promoting social-emotional development. Effective communication with parents and stakeholders is key to ensure that the Pre-School upholds the highest standards of quality, inclusivity and child-centeredness, and prepare children for a successful transition to Makini Junior Primary.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOBS

    •  Determine the scope of educational activities, develop the curriculum for each class and partner with teaching staff to determine how curriculum will be executed.
    •  Monitor students’ progress and provide students and teachers with assistance in resolving any problems.
    •  Set educational standards and goals and help establish policies, procedures, and programs to carry them out.
    •  Engage in ongoing assessment and evaluation of policies, procedures and programs, and implement change to achieve maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
    •  Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate staff and recommend developmental activities for programs and services.
    •  Supervise, lead and support teaching and administrative staff.
    •  Mentor Group Teachers - teach through example and explanation how to fulfil their responsibilities as it applies to their classroom.
    •  Always maintain a safe and healthy environment.
    •  Develop allocations of funds for staff, supplies, educational materials, and equipment, authorize purchases and manage the budget.
    •  Work with parents as needed for their child’s development and education.
    •  Ensure that the Pre-School complies with regulatory requirements at all times.
    •  To create an ethos and provide educational vision and direction which secures effective teaching, successful learning and achievement by students and sustained improvement in their spiritual, moral, cultural, mental, and physical development.
    •  To secure the commitment of parents and the wider community to the vision and direction of the school, to create and implement a strategic plan, underpinned by sound financial planning which identifies priorities and targets for ensuring that students achieve high standards and make progress, increasing teacher’s effectiveness and securing school improvement.
    •  To Oversee interviews and admissions of students to maintain optimum levels in accordance with set standards and guidelines that ensure quality and optimum enrolment.
    •  To set targets and goals for the school’s professional staff through a participative process and develop strategies that will enable the school to achieve its objectives.
    •  To identify staffing needs and participate effectively in the recruitment and selection of the school’s professionals to maintain optimum staff utilization.
    •  To provide effective leadership that will create a learning environment at Makini that will enable each learner to realize their maximum potential.
    •  To participate effectively in activities geared towards marketing the school to ensure optimum enrolment and a data base for potential students.
    •  To initiate teacher’s preparations of Schemes of Work and development of appropriate instructional materials especially teaching aids.
    •  To Plan, prepare and deliver lessons to a range of classes including putting up displays in the classroom.

    QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
    Qualifications  

    • Bachelor’s degree in ECD
    •  Master’s degree in education or ECD or Education
    • Management will be preferred

    Specialized knowledge  

    • Knowledge of what constitutes quality in educational provision, the characteristics of effective schools.
    •  CBC Curriculum

    Skills  

    • Creativity, initiative, flexibility, and strong communication skills are essential.
    •  Strong interpersonal skills: ability to interact and communicate effectively with parents, children, and staff.

    List of essential experience  

    • At least 10 years teaching experience 4-6 years of which must be at management level, in a recognised school.

    Head of Digital Innovations

    JOB PURPOSE

    • Primarily translates innovative models and concepts of delivery in the digital economy into successful applications that substantially increase the overall efficiency and utilization of innovative technologies to enhance learning and teaching in the school.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB

    • Oversee the overall efficiency of ICT in learning and teaching that adds value to both the studentsand teachers.
    • To regularly monitor, assess and evaluate progress of ICT within own teaching groups in a structuredsystematic way for efficient running of the school.
    • Enhance the school’s reputation through embracing Enterprise Resource Planning processes acrossdepartments.
    • Provide the business with regular updates on academic progress reports per school.
    • Facilitate growth in talent and capability in basic ICT skills in both learning and teaching.
    • Develop strategies for the use of learning and teaching methods.
    • Develop areas for improvement linked to the school’s improvement plan.
    • Maintain a climate which enables staff to develop and maintain positive attitude towards innovation and ICT developments.
    • Prepare students and teachers for opportunities, responsibilities, and experiences for the future.
    • Develop minor in-house applications to solve temporary challenges.
    • To ensure students and teachers use ICT technologies effectively in the delivery of learning and teaching.
    • Project manage the implementation of the Academic Management System (STASY) duties include:
      • Set deadlines assign responsibilities and monitor progress of STASY implementation across multiple departments/sections.
      • Evaluate and recommend changes to STASY based on end-user requests.
      • Lead the implementation of new organizational processes aligned to STASY implementation.
      • Ensure end users have adequate user guides and plan and conduct training related to STASY.
      • Communicate new system development to stakeholders.
      • Perform admin roles such as password-reset, account creation, account update, permission setting.
      • Oversee accuracy of data keyed in STASY and make follow up to ensure data keyed in is accurate, timely and valid.
      • Testing and evaluating new STASY features.

    QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS(minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the job)
    Education & Professional

    •  Qualification in the field of ICT
    •  Bachelor’s Degree in Education
    •  Formal training on administration of Microsoft servers.
    •  Relevant Microsoft certifications
    • Specialized knowledge  Knowledge of relevant compliance issues such as Data Protection, Security etc.

    • Proficiency in spoken and written English
    •  Excellent communication skills
    •  Attention to detail oriented with the ability to manage projects from inception through implementation.
