    Communications Officer, Nairobi

    As an experienced communications professional, the Communications Officer will contribute to the planning, development, implementation and monitoring of complex communications strategies in support of North Star’s strategic goals and objectives. S/he will work closely with senior leadership to promote North Star’s added value in the global health sector and to monitor global political developments to determine the best positioning of the organisation and to implement the resulting communications work.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an international communications and/or marketing role.
    • Bachelor’s degree and/or advanced degree in Marketing/Communications or related field.
    • Demonstrate a successful track record in content and social media management.
    • Proficient skills in the MS Office software and knowledge of digital communication and design tools (for example WordPress, Canva, Mailchimp, etc.).
    • Demonstrated experience with project management and inter-and intra-team coordination.
    • International experience in the development sector (e.g., social entrepreneurship and social innovation) is an asset.
    • Exceptional ability to translate complex ideas and information into simple messages and communication strategies.
    • Outstanding public and corporate communications skills, both written and spoken, as well as diplomacy and tact.
    • Native or close to native oral and written English language skills
    • Experience in and understanding of the healthcare sector in sub-Saharan Africa would be an asset

    Monitoring & Evaluation Officer, Nakuru

    We are seeking to recruit a dynamic and self-driven M & E Officer to be based in Nakuru to work in an HIV AIDS prevention, care and treatment project. The overall objective of the project is to increase access and coverage for HIV prevention, care and treatment services towards achieving the “90-90-90” targets.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Degree in Social Sciences, Monitoring and Evaluation/ Statistics/ Research with previous project management experience in public health. Master’s Degree in relevant field will be an added advantage.
    • 3 years’ experience in Monitoring and Evaluation.
    • Proven experience in research, project planning and risk management.
    • Experience in data entry, analysis, and reporting required.
    • Ability to communicate sophisticated technical information into accessible and meaningful information for use indecision making and program improvement.
    • Experience in applied evaluation and data tracking and utilization to inform program improvement required.
    • Proven experience in people management.
    • Computer Literacy and Competence essential.
    • Must be in possession of a valid and current passport, driver’s license and be prepared to travel outside the border of East Africa
    • Be accustomed to working with people from different countries, cultures and backgrounds.

    Project Accountant, Nakuru

    We are seeking to recruit a dynamic and self-driven Project Accountant to be based in Nakuru to work in an HIV prevention Care and treatment project. The overall objective of the project is to increase access and coverage for HIV prevention, care and treatment services towards achieving the “90-90-90” targets.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
    • At least 3 years’ experience in project accounting and a good understanding of the health landscape in Kenya would also be desirable.
    • Working knowledge of USAID funded projects is necessary
    • Proficiency in electronic accounting systems.
    • An excellent communicator with strong writing skills
