    Business Process & Cyber Security Officer

    • The Business Process & Cyber Security Officer plays a crucial role in driving the effective adoption and optimization of technological business applications and processes, under the strategic guidance of the IT Manager. This position blends process improvement with a focus on ensuring secure and efficient digital operations. Responsibilities include analyzing workflows, designing enhanced processes, conducting user training, and implementing cybersecurity best practices to safeguard organizational data and systems.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Business Process Analysis and Optimization:
    • Conduct thorough analysis of existing business processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for automation and improvement.
    • Utilize process mapping, data analysis, and other relevant methodologies to assess current state and propose future state process designs.
    • Assist in the design and implementation of user-centric process improvements, focusing on enhanced User Experience (UX).
    • Cyber Security Integration and Compliance:
    • Integrate cybersecurity considerations into business process design and implementation, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
    • Assist in implementing and monitoring security controls for business applications and processes.
    • Support the department in ensuring compliance with relevant data protection regulations and cybersecurity frameworks.

    • Data Analysis and Performance Measurement:
    • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to measure process performance and identify trends related to new business applications and processes.

    • Generate reports and dashboards to visualize process performance and security metrics.
    • Change Management, User Training, and Support:
    • Develop and execute change management plans to facilitate the smooth adoption of new applications and optimized workflows, with a focus on security awareness.
    • Provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to employees, ensuring they understand and effectively utilize new systems and processes, including security best practices.
    • Create user documentation and training materials, incorporating security guidelines.
    • Provide hand-holding support to users during and after application deployment.
    • Collaboration and Project Support:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and compliance, to implement process improvements and security initiatives.
    • Assist in the IT department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and security standards.
    • Provide support to the IT Manager on assigned tasks and projects.
    • Continuous Improvement and Emerging Trends:
    • Stay abreast of emerging trends in business process optimization, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.

    • Participate in professional development activities to maintain and enhance technical and analytical skills.
    • Ad-Hoc Responsibilities:

    Person Specification

    • Bachelor’s degree in business information technology, or related field. 
    • At least 1-2 years with experience in end point management. 
    • Proficiency in User Experience Design is advantageous.
    • Proficiency in Data analytics and Business Intelligence tools (Power BI) is advantageous. 
    • Proficiency in process mapping and modelling techniques, familiarity with BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) is advantageous.

    Legal and Compliance Officer

    • The Legal and Compliance Officer provides legal advice, transactional and project-based legal risk management and overall legal and compliance support to the various entities, and all aspects of the operations of the organization across the Avenue Group. This role also supports management on legal and regulatory compliance and in maintaining programs aimed at establishing best in class corporate and ethical governance

    Key Responsibilities

    • Advising the organization on all legal and compliance matters that may arise in its operations.
    • Support the Evercare Group Head of Legal & Compliance in monitoring and ensuring compliance with Data privacy and Data protection laws and regulations in the markets of operations.
    • Support the Evercare Group Head of Legal & Compliance on medico-legal aspects, including litigation matters
    • Support the Evercare Group Head of Legal & Compliance on the development and implementation of a comprehensive corporate compliance program for the Avenue Group.
    • Support the Evercare Group Head of Legal & Compliance on all aspects of the group’s “Your Voice Matters” program (open reporting / whistleblowing), including all aspects of safeguarding (zero tolerance for any form of (sexual) harassment, discrimination, retaliation or aggression).
    • Monitor changes in local and relevant laws, regulations, and connected policies within Avenue Group.
    • Provide day-to-day legal, regulatory and compliance support to the organization.
    • Act on internal audit findings and recommendations such as and when required to close gaps in compliance and governance touching on legal matters.
    • Draft and review contracts (and related instruments) with clients, suppliers and other partners including attending and participating in contract negotiation meetings and ensure that the finalized contracts accurately reflect the negotiated terms.
    • Undertake quality legal research, draft legal opinions and respond to legal enquiries from colleagues within the Group.
    • Formulate compliance checklists to be used for the purpose of ensuring that all information required is provided accordingly.
    • Build and develop strong relationships with other legal colleagues across the assets, both internal and external.
    • Identify potential risks in transactions and business operations and advise management and business units on measures to mitigate the risks.
    • Review, analyze and improve compliance with labour & employment statutes. Aid and support the HR department in drafting and reviewing employment contracts and matters arising out of employment. Providing legal advice in employment related disputes.
    • Liaise with the Evercare Group Central Team and support customization and deployment of relevant legal, risk and ethics training of employees, clients, suppliers, and any other relevant stakeholders.
    • Carry out any other duties relating to legal risk management and connected matters as may be directed by the Evercare Group Head of Legal and Compliance.
    • Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor in line with the job description.

    Person Specification

    • Bachelor’s degree in law from a reputable university.
    • Admission to the bar in Kenya.
    • Data protection certification / data protection officer (DPO).
    • Compliance-related certification (e.g. KYC, fraud prevention, anti-bribery & anti-corruption, compliance investigation).
    • On the roll of Solicitors.
    • At least three (3) years’ experience with demonstrable sound legal background/knowledge of the corporate and regulatory universe. 
    • A practicing lawyer in good standing (minimum 2 years from the date of admission would be an added advantage).
    • Experience working in the healthcare sector, in particular in hospital operations or the provision of medical services; Experience interacting with healthcare institutions or healthcare professionals.
