    Quantity Surveyor

    We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of five (5) years’ post-qualification experience and valid Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (BORAQS) professional registration. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in cost estimation, project financial planning, and contract administration for a range of construction and infrastructure projects.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies for proposed projects.
    • Manage pre- and post-contract quantity surveying duties, including bills of quantities, tender documentation, and cost control.
    • Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to ensure project cost-effectiveness.
    • Evaluate and manage contractor claims, variations, and payment certificates.
    • Provide advice on procurement strategies and contractual matters.
    • Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and project managers throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Monitor project expenditures, ensuring alignment with budgets and schedules.
    • Compile detailed final accounts and project completion reports.
    • Ensure adherence to building regulations, legal standards, and company policies.

    Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
    • Registered with a recognized professional body (e.g., IQSK, QSRB, RICS).
    • Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in quantity surveying, preferably on medium to large-scale projects.
    • Strong understanding of construction law, tendering procedures, and standard forms of contract (FIDIC, JBC, etc.).
    • Proficiency in QS software tools (e.g., CostX, WinQS, MS Excel).
    • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under pressure.

    Construction Project Manager

    We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager with a proven track record in internal fit-out and finishing works. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, coordinating, and managing all aspects of high-quality interior construction projects, from planning to completion. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong leadership, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Project Planning & Delivery
    • Oversee the planning, execution, and handover of fit-out and finishing projects.
    • Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
    • Ensure works are delivered in compliance with contractual requirements, health and safety standards, and company quality benchmarks.
    • Technical Oversight
    • Manage interior construction works, including partitions, flooring, ceilings, joinery, MEP integration, and final finishes.
    • Review and approve shop drawings, specifications, and material submittals.
    • Conduct quality inspections to ensure flawless execution of finishes.
    • Stakeholder Management
    • Act as the primary point of contact between ISM Africa, clients, consultants, and contractors.
    • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to maintain alignment with project goals.
    • Provide clear, timely reporting on project progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
    • Leadership & Team Management
    • Lead project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
    • Mentor junior staff and ensure adherence to best practices.
    • Promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and high-quality delivery.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in construction project management, with at least 5 years in internal fit-out and finishing works.
    • Strong technical knowledge of finishing trades and interior detailing.
    • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and complex stakeholder relationships.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
    • Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
    • Professional certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
