    Manager, CSSD

    Responsibilities

    • Provide leadership, supervision, and performance management of CSSD staff. 
    • Develop duty rosters, manage staffing levels, and ensure appropriate skill mix.
    • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous quality improvement.
    • Coordinate training, competency assessments, and staff development programs.
    • Develop, review, and update CSSD policies, SOPs, and guidelines.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and licensing requirements.
    • Participate in hospital committees related to infection control, quality, and patient safety.
    • Plan, organize, and supervise daily operations of the Sterile Processing Department including cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, packing, storage and distribution surgical instruments.
    • Ensure timely availability of sterile packs, Set and supplementary instruments, etc to all hospital departments (OR, wards, Units,OPD, etc.).
    • Implement and monitor sterilization processes according to hospital infection control protocols and national/international standards.
    • Maintain cleaning, Disinfection and sterilization records, load control logs, and traceability documentation.
    • Conduct regular audits and biological/chemical indicator tests to validate sterilization efficacy.
    • Oversee maintenance and calibration of washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic, Heat sealer (autoclaves, plasma, etc.), other CSSD equipment.
    • Coordinate with biomedical engineering for preventive maintenance and repairs.
    • Ensure no supplies are out of stock.
    • Plan for replacement or procurement of CSSD instruments and consumables.
    • Monitor inventory levels of sterile and non-sterile supplies.
    • Manage requisition, storage, and distribution of sterile items.
    • Ensure cost-effective use of resources and minimize wastage by controlling and monitoring the cost of running the operations and department.
    • Liaise with operating theatres, nursing units, and other departments to understand and fulfill sterilization requirements.
    • Report departmental performance, incidents, and quality issues to hospital management.
    • Preparing Annual Budget Planning for ongoing & benchmarked upcoming year services. 

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, Sterile Processing, or a related healthcare field
    • Certification or training in CSSD Technician or equivalent plus postgraduate training in Healthcare Management, Quality Management, or Infection Prevention will be an added advantage
    • Minimum 5–7 years in CSSD operations, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
    • In-depth knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control.
    • Leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
    • Familiarity with hospital accreditation standards like JCIA
    • Experience in an acute care hospital or surgical environment is essential

    Senior Accounts Clerk, Manual Reconciler, Debtors Department

    Position Summary:

    Reporting to the Team Leader, Corporate, the Senior Accounts Clerk (Manual reconciler) will assist the Team Leader in the collection of debts and reconciling of the corporate accounts.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Reconcile corporate client accounts on monthly basis (two major accounts every month).
    • Collect, verify and sort NHIF claims on daily basis as per NHIF requirements.
    • Pass on journal vouchers for claims in the wrong account; deposits not netting off; and collection of errors.
    • Process all pending claims/returns for the week on every Monday & 3rd of every month for the previous month.
    • Generate report after daily NHIF claim/invoice dispatch and forward downloads for main account to Team leaders on daily basis.
    • Liaise with Dispatch team and team Leaders to ensure that all invoices have been dispatched and received by corporate on weekly basis.
    • Ensure accurate and complete NHIF claims with accompanying attachments are dispatched in a timely manner.
    • Organize and hold meetings with Dispatch team to discuss the invoice status of respective corporate in the dispatch reports.
    • Maintain confidentiality and safe custody of the Internal and External clients’ documents.
    • Participate in preparation of service audits to enable the department to achieve its quality objective.
    • Maintain all the records, correspondence for NHIF claim attachments, and corporate reconciliation.
    • Perform any other duties as may be requested by the Supervisor.

    Qualifications and skills required:

    • Bachelor of Commerce/ CPA II or equivalent
    • KCSE Mean Grade C minimum or equivalent
    • A minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in a busy accounting/credit management department
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and customer service skills
    • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
    • Good interpersonal skills: Ability to build relationships among team members.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.
    • Physically fit and able to sit for long hours.
    • Accuracy & efficiency in handling demanding work load.
    • Knowledgeable and can perform routine/non routine assignments.

    Job Summary

    To lead and support the development and implementation of internal and external communication strategies; to provide practical experience in communication, marketing, and media relations, which will help CoEWCH EA achieve its mission.

    Responsibilities

    Content Creation and dissemination: 

    • Research, create, edit, and distribute research summaries, press releases, newsletters, reports, blog posts, and web content.
    • Translate technical research outputs into accessible formats for varied audiences (e.g., policymakers, media, public).
    • Oversee content production such as videos, infographics, and publications.
    • End-to-end drafting, editing, and publishing content for newsletters, social media platforms and internal communication channels.
    • Create engaging graphics, posters, and banners for events, campaigns, and updates

    Social Media Management:

    • Manage and update CoEWCH EA’s website
    • Managing CoEWCH EA’s social media pages, including content planning, scheduling, and monitoring performance metrics.
    • Respond to comments and messages, ensuring timely and professional engagement with the respective audiences.
    • Monitor social media analytics and trends, as well as engage with the online community.

    Event support:

    • Focal point for live social media coverage of COEWCH EA led events.
    • Create event marketing materials (flyers/Posters)
    • Collaborate with photographers and videographers to document events, ensuring high-quality coverage.

    Media relations:

    • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets and journalists
    • Coordinate media interviews.
    • Monitor media mentions and compile reports on communications impact

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.

    Relevant Experience

    • 2–5 years of experience in a communications role, ideally within a research, academic, or nonprofit environment.
    • Proficiency in photography, videography, and editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, Canva).
