Job Summary :

Responsible for helping the Teacher Professional Development (TPD) program facilitators support participants in the Teaching Literacy with ABRA program.

Responsibilities:

• Working with the Concordia Learning Tool Kit  (LTK)+ Global
• Receiving weekly submissions from the participating teachers via WhatsApp
• Reviewing, renaming and posting submissions to an online platform entitled, LTK+ Global
• Reminding participating teachers about submission deadlines
• Making weekly update of the course dates and timelines
• Setting and distribution of zoom session links to the teachers as guided
• Distributing course content articles/activities/readings as guided by the TPD Coordinator
• Following up with teachers who have incorrectly or not submitted content
• Responding the inquiries from the Wilfrid Laurier University research team
• Working with the Knowledge and Information Exchange (KIX) TPD Facilitators, the Concordia LTK+ Trainer, and the Wilfrid Laurier researchers and regularly communicating on program-related matters as they arise.

The requirements

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in Education or Social studies
• Experience working in an educational set is required  
• Proficient in ICT

Job Summary 

The painter will be expected to use color theory principles to match shades, follow written and verbal instructions, and use a variety of tools to paint surfaces. Other responsibilities include completing minor repairs and selecting correct paints and primers.

Duty & Responsibilities

• Performs skilled painting work in the preparation, patching, finishing, and maintaining of all building structures.
• Completes assigned painting projects with quality workmanship by preparing surfaces for painting.
• Restores painting work sites to their original condition at the completion of work
• Assists with documenting the cost of painting work by keeping accurate daily time sheets and work order records of time and materials to be charged to each job.
• Practices preventive maintenance of painting tools and equipment by performing spot checks of equipment to determine their working condition, oiling moving parts, cleaning and servicing tools.
• Provides technical assistance in the purchase of new or replacement painting and recommending the purchase of painting tools and equipment that meet the needs of the Academy’s paint work.

The requirements

• Technician certificate in painting or equivalent
• At least 2 years’ experience in painting
• Must have Certificate of Good Conduct
• Knowledge of all the applicable health and safety standards
• Good planning and organization
• Solid communication skills
• Good balance and physical strength

Job Summary 

The Teaching Assistant will be responsible for supporting teachers and assisting students in Junior School with their educational and social development both inside and outside classroom.

Duty & Responsibilities

• To assist with planning of teaching and learning in the assigned classrooms under the mentorship /supervision of the class teacher. 
• To support student in mathematics to boost their interest and achievement in years 1 - 5
• To observe and develop strategies that embrace student inquiry and assist in the differentiation of activities to meet the needs of all students. 
• To assist the class teacher in authentic assessment of students, including the maintenance of records to track student progress
• To always assist the class teacher in the safety and security of each student in the classroom and around school. 
• To contribute towards and be an active participant in the extra-curricular part of the Academy’s programme and student life; enrichment, student field-trips, whole school events and initiatives, residential week-end duties. 
• To contribute towards building a student culture of self-regulation and self-efficacy adhering to the values of the academy and the student code of conduct. 

The requirements

• At least a Diploma in Education  
• TSC Registered
• Previous experience in supporting students in Mathematics
• At least 1 year of teaching experience is preferred  
• Early Years/Primary experience would be an added advantage
