Supervision

• Consistently seek to maintain positive morale among the Counselling Team.
• Assist the counselling team in evaluating and maintaining mental and emotional health for students.
• Work cooperatively with the Learning Support, to develop, plan and offer resources for
• growth and improvement.
• Develop an effective K-12 counselling program for students.
• Work with the Counseling Team and Department by attending Team meetings and weekly supervision meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Demonstrate a respect for diversity of culture, religion, and different Christian traditions.

• Possess a minimum of a Master’s Degree in counselling from a North American accredited tertiary body.
• Hold a counselling certificate from an authorized governmental agency from the individual’s home country and an ability to pursue certification as a counselor in Kenya.
• Show evidence of recent professional growth.
• Give evidence of previous successful counselling experience utilizing research-based and school-based interventions.

Duties 

• Pick students from designated bus pick up points to and from school.
• Ensure students board and leave the bus in an orderly manner to prevent accidents.
• Ensure safety belts are worn by every student.
• Ensure vehicle is given regular/day-to-day maintenance checks: check oil, water,
• Battery and other crucial parts of the vehicle.
• Report any unsafe behavior by a student to the relevant authority.
• Maintain communication with the transport department through the two way radio.
• Attend any relevant trainings as identified and agreed.

Duties 

• Assess vehicles / machinery to accurately diagnose and repair issues
• Performs repair and maintenance of school automotive equipment including tractors, generators, ride mowers, power sweepers, lawn mowers, hedge cutters, blowers, washing machines etc.
• Determines the extent of repairs needed and estimates the cost of parts needed for repairs.
• Work with the transport supervisor to give details of parts and spares required for machinery or vehicle repairs
• Liaise with drivers to determine their automotive requirements and communicate vehicular defects or problems to the transport manager
• Prioritize urgent repairs and work deliver with minimum supervision
• Provide routine inspections of vehicles and inform transport supervisor of any issues
• Maintain and clean garage equipment and tools to ensure they are kept in a safe and usable condition at all times
• Maintains record of all repairs and maintenance work done.
• Operates a variety of maintenance and repair tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Performs preventative maintenance work, such as checking oil and fluid levels on all equipment.
• Ensure a complete inventory of required parts and materials are in stock in the garage and maintained.
• Follow all school health and safety procedures and policies.
• Performs duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Professional Qualifications

• Possess a high school diploma or certificate in mechanics.
• With experience of more than 7 years in diesel and petrol engines.
• Well Conversant in both cars and buses maintenance.
• Auto- Electrical Knowledge and experience will be an added advantage

• Knowledge of the principles and methods used in preventive maintenance for automotive equipment.
• Knowledge of work hazards and safety practices.
