    Sub Editor Social Media

    Job Responsibilities

    Reporting to the uReport & Social Media Editor, The Social Media Sub-Editor will be responsible for the following;

    • Develop and manage an e ective social media strategy that acquires and retains users in general and within targeted audience segments.
    • Plan, implement, and analyze video and distributed content across multiple Facebook pages and other social media platforms.
    • Monitor discussions, posts, and comments across multiple Facebook pages and other social media channels.
    • Ensure all plans are aligned to the wider brand and editorial strategy and will drive increased consumer engagement, website tra c, data acquisition and maximize revenues, while also increasing brand equity and online awareness
    • Generate creative ideas for Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, Tumblr, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and more
    • Understand the brand and the community and ensure all plans and activity meet internal needs and our fans expectations. Ability to advise wider digital team on community management best practice and inform wider digital debates around user rewards and recognition.
    • Work with teams to edit and post the best, most viral, irresistible show clips and monitor strategies to maximize video views, content sharing and tune-in for KTN Home and KTN News.
    • Ensure all output is of appropriate quality and complies with all relevant Standard group guidelines and procedures. Monitor and moderate communities in line with Standard Group social media policy and platform best practice.
    • Produce detailed weekly and monthly performance reports and post-campaign reports where appropriate.
    • Required Experience: At least two years’ experience writing/editing experience.

    Qualification

    • Degree in communication, journalism or literature or any related  eld
    • Fluency in English and Kiswahili
    • Sharp, fast writer with ability to deliver fresh voice and irresistible headlines.
    • Strong skills in packaging content for online distribution, awareness of what makes for “viral” content. Proven track record of creating engaging content (written, video, social) that drives tra c.
    • Must demonstrate creativity, initiative, teamwork, organizational skills, strong verbal, visual and written communication skills, strong technological skills and have an innovative approach to problem-solving.
    • Knowledge on current a airs
    • A familiarity with social scheduling, testing and moderating tools e.g. Hootsuite, tweetdeck, Schedugram is essential.
