    Africa Coffee Program Lead

    Type of contract: Permanent contract 

    1. Master Degree in Agriculture, Management, or equivalent
    2. 10 years experience as agriculture project manager in sustainability operations with strong project management and facilitation/engagement skills 

    Position Summary

    As a Coffee Program Lead your main role is to lead the Nespresso coffee sustainability and sourcing in Asia and Africa. Your main mission is the following:

    • Define strategy for the regions and implement
    • Oversee the Nespresso sustainable quality coffee sourcing
    • Manage stakeholders for trust and efficiency

    A day in the life of...

    Sustainable Quality Coffee Sourcing:

    • Oversee the sourcing of coffee volume from the region including financial and physical traceability
    • Ensure the quality of field data capture in the management system F.A.R.M.S
    • Identify key risks and opportunities: Volume and price during harvest, labour conditions, Deforestation, Biodiversity, cluster development, COVID

    Strategy and field implementation: 

    • Manage direct and indirect teams located in Kenya and in each country under management responsibillity
    • Translate the global impact strategy into a regional and country specific strategies.
    • Establish long-term roadmaps,  targets, technical assistance, projects and interventions, training (suppliers, farmers and agronomists)
    • Design local projects and interventions to address root causes of key local challenges
    • Guarantee the good execution of all activities in direct connection with suppliers 
    • Contribute to the HQ consolidation on progress vs. strategy, agronomy expertise, key challenges management (Coffee sourcing, Child labour, Gender equality, Living income, Biodiversity...)

    • Proven track record in delivering results by working with cross-functional teams
    • Communication skills to engage with local partners and global organisations
    • Ability to work in a multinational and multistakeholder environment

    Education

    • Master Degree in Agriculture, Management, or equivalent

    Experiences:

    • 10 - 15 years experience as agriculture project manager in sustainability operations with strong project management and facilitation/engagement skills 
    • Strong understanding of the African and Asian context & in purchasing & demonstrated on-the-field experience in rural development projects
