Perform physical examinations and diagnostic tests to assess and monitor women’s health.
Provide antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, including conducting deliveries and managing complications.
Diagnose and treat gynaecologic conditions such as fibroids, endometriosis, infections, and menstrual disorders etc
Conduct obstetric and gynaecologic surgical procedures such as cesarean sections, hysterectomies as needed.
Monitor maternal and fetal well being in the management of high-risk pregnancies.
Counsel patients on reproductive health, contraception, and family planning.
Maintain accurate medical records and document all patient interactions.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide multidisciplinary care.
Plan, coordinate and run the obstetrics and gynaecology outpatient clinics ensuring quality, efficiency and adherence to hospital protocols.
Participate in internal and external health education activities, including community health talks, staff education, and awareness campaigns related to maternal and reproductive health.
Maintain accurate medical records and document all patient interactions
Participate in training, mentorship, and continuous professional development.
Adhere to hospital policies, clinical protocols, and relevant medical guidelines.
Develop/Improve Shalom Hospital clinical policies and Standard Operating Procedures for obstetrics and gynaecology.
Be aware of Shalom Hospital risk program and report clinical incidents, drug errors and near misses.
Provide a 24-hour coverage as a second on call to the hospital.
Visit patients as requested at the request of nursing staff, patients or their relatives.
Conduct quality improvement, morbidity and mortality meetings, and any other meeting.
To provide emergency treatment for patients, staff and visitors.
Involvement in CME’s.
Be aware of the hospital’s strategic objectives and key performance indicators as stated in the corporate, departmental and individual balanced score card.
