Business Analyst at Express Shipping & Logistics (EA) Limited (ESL)

• This position is responsible for gathering data from various sources in the Group, reviewing and interpreting it timely using data analysis tools to provide meaningful information and insights to help the company make informed decisions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Identifying data sources and collecting data.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs, objectives, and challenges and deliver actionable insights to relevant decision-makers.
• Source, document, and analyze business requirements, processes, and workflows.
• Proactively analyze data to answer key questions with an eye on what drives business performance and investigate and communicate which areas need improvement in efficiency and productivity.
• Create detailed documentation including business requirements, process flows, use cases, and user stories.
• Use automated tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources and perform analysis to assess the quality and meaning of data.
• Design and maintain data systems and databases.

Solution Design:

• Collaborate with technology teams to design solutions that meet business needs.
• Propose innovative and practical solutions to address business challenges.
• Ensure that proposed solutions align with the organization's strategic goals and technological capabilities.
• Develop and maintain databases by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources and build scripts that will make our data evaluation process more flexible or scalable across datasets.
• Organizing data in to usable formats.
• Setting up data infrastructure.
• Assessing quality of data and removing or cleaning data.
• Creating visualizations of data.
• Generating information and insights from data sets and identifying trends and patterns.
• Preparing reports for executive and project teams.
• Analyze data for strategic decision making and monitoring company’s performance.
• Leverage analytic techniques to provide insights.
• Create best-practice reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualization.
• Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis, with reporting components from multiple data sources.
• Conduct full lifecycle of analytics projects (including pulling, manipulating, and exporting data) from project requirements documentation to design and execution.
• Evaluate key performance indicators, provide ongoing reports, and recommend business plan updates.
• Define configuration specifications and business analysis requirements.
• Report on common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations to Commercial & Operations team.
• Communicate key insights and findings to Commercial & Operations team.
• Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.
• Monitoring deliverables and ensuring timely completion of projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
• 2 - 3 years of experience in similar position.

• Experience in statistical analysis using statistical packages, including Excel, SPSS, and SAS an added advantage.
• Technical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries, reports, and presentations.
